Sep 27, 2014 6:35 AM in response to nbolleby alex_h1,Hello nbolle,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Please follow the troubleshooting steps below to help resolve this issue where your iPhone's screen remains dark.
After finishing a call the display remains black
- If the iPhone is in a protective case, remove it from the case.
- If there is a protective or antiglare film on the display, remove the film.
- Clean the screen, especially around the receiver, with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

Take care,
Alex H.

Nov 19, 2014 6:47 AM in response to nbolleby mailhound,I have been having this problem since day one, I do not use a case on my phone and the only way the screen frees up is to wait for the other person to hang up, or reboot. The problem is that you cannot switch to speaker or look up anything on the phone until the call is cleared... 8.8.1

Jul 11, 2016 7:29 PM in response to alex_h1by ByoungOk.Lee,I am also having same problem.
As I review on the support communities, there are many issues about same items.
If Apple identified about this problem, you have to announce to user's about reason why and resolved action plan for user.
Important, User didn't have any impact for IPhone.
After phonecall, the screen doesn't work.
Restarting and initialized phone setting dosen't recovered it yet.
