Problems After update to iOS 8 on ipad 2

Hello community,

please pay attention when you update your iPad 2 from iOS 7 to 8. The whole useability of my iPad broke down and their are many problems using my iPad now. Everthing is really slow and I always need a restart to connect to my service provider with 3G. The following problems occurred on my iPad:

  • Safari is working realy slow and sometimes brake down
  • mail is also realy slow and most of the functions sometimes don't work or hang
  • 3G connection fails anytime you switch on the iPad and needs a restart

TO Apple:

please improve this version of iOS and submit your update asap, otherwise my iPad is not usable anymore and lose me as a customer.

thx.

SSimilar issues using wifi as far as not connecting to servers. Crashing apps this update is an unmitigated disaster and another example of poor quality control which was something they used to excel at

Startraveler, you are right when you say that the forum here is not necessarily for "rants" as you call them.

However you should then also know perfectly well that the Apple feedback is just that. You never get a reply from Apple through that channel so, in my opinion, it's a cute but completely useless tool. Apple most likely use the comments there to amuse themselves with during their upcoming christmas parties.

In order to get a reaction from Apple you have to pay for something that is already yours which, again only in my opinion, is close to extorsion as it's their software that caused the problem in the first place..

I can understand that Apple wants to sell new products but then they should just advise that older are not supported by the new software - or at least that it may cause problems and thereby give the user a choice..

under all circumstances, unless you're the moderator on this forum, stop patronizing the rest of us With your eternal references to the T's and C's. It's tiresome to read and will only anger people...

Plain and simple:

Crazy people in this forum, they just take advantage of any comments to engage in idle discussions...! Where is the First Amendment on the first place??? Where is the so-called motto: THE CLIENT IS ALWAYS RIGHT? (You are using an apple domain in this forum so, Apple must hear whatever we say here!) I have a right to complaint and say whatever I don't like from a product -why hide it!!!-, and no one or no TOU can shut my voice only because they have 'economic power'...!!! THAT PLAIN AND SIMPLE... hopefully I am done with this NONSENSE!

Too busy to hear more, and have no other choice than look for a solution somewhere else... WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER APPLE PRODUCT and will advise potential NEW people NOT to do so because of irrespective/non-polite employees like you (Sad I've BOUGHT too many now!)

Oh, and one more thing besides your mistaken impression of the First Amendment, is your mistaken impression of who posts here. Apple Support does not post here. It's a forum that is exclusively "users helping other users" (and when users can't find the help to implement a solution, then they can go to the "official" Apple Support).

You've struck out two times now, thinking that there is such a thing as the First Amendment here, and then thinking that there is Apple Support employees here. Apple has moderators to ENFORCE the Terms of Use to keep the forum in line, but no Apple Support people here.

If this is, indeed, a 'forum that is exclusively [for] "users helping other users"', then for god's sake, man: stop writing, as you in particular are helping no one. Feel free to quote the First Amendment now, if you think it's your right to continue offending. Otherwise, let us alone to share our iOS8 problems and complaints, that you apparently do not share or experience. Oh, yeah.....I don't recall First Amendment Rights being the core of the commentary allowed on Apple Support Communities. Should we all be excommunicated from further replies from now on, being that we've all spoken "off topic"? Why can't we all be friends, as we're (allegedly) after the same thing. Namely: to have our iPads' functions restored.

Oct 18, 2014 2:45 PM in response to Ken Haggerty

Well, if I'm helping no one, according to you ... and I have almost 1,000 points ... and thus I should stop writing -- then you with 0 points should never come back here again ... LOL ...

Those points are only given by other users when "they themselves" believe they have been helped. I see you're not getting too far with you "helping others" ... :-) ...

Oct 18, 2014 3:03 PM in response to Star Traveler

I am unaware of any points value system here, and I feel any such system, in and of itself, is counter-productive. I am, and always was, interested only in solving our communal issues. I don't give a hoot how many "points" you have "earned", or perceive to have earned. Furthermore: if you were of any help, I would have been the first to congratulate you, and offer gratitude. But, let's face it; that is far from the case. Regardless: I am offended by you. I have no further use of this venue as a result of your continued insolence. So; you win. I am removing myself from this forum, and will no longer send nor receive communications. Good luck to everyone ELSE who reads here. I hope your devices are restored to their previous usefulness. Bon soirée.

Oct 18, 2014 3:11 PM in response to Ken Haggerty

It's not "my opinion" for the points, as they are awarded by the users here (not me). It's not a "perception" as the point are listed right by your name and my name. And there are many posters who have way more points than me. You're going to have to learn to deal with ... "perception" versus "reality" ... :-) ...

AND this forum consists of more than just me ... it's thousands of users and they all help each other - in solving ACTUAL PROBLEMS (not in joining into a "gripe-fest"). If they can't solve your problems, Apple has their OFFICIAL APPLE SUPPORT -- which this forum is NOT! Have you ever heard of "shooting yourself in the foot" or perhaps ... "cutting off your nose to spite your face" ? ... :-) ...

No one here is an employee. If you cannot understand the simple stuff then seek professional advice for the technical stuff.

Can someone please tell me how to remove myself from this forum? Every time anyone posts it sends me an email and this has become quite non-productive. Apple does not care what they caused and your only real voice is thru your future dollars and whether you will continue to buy their products. But I really would like to get off the train so how can I stop receiving emails please? 🙂

Also having issues with iOS 8 update.

Copy and paste is intermittent in Safari. Sometimes I can copy, but mostly it only seems to copy, and when I try to paste, it pastes something copied previously. Deleting emails through the Safari web browser is faulty. It will delete the email I am clicked on and the one below it in the list. Also in Safari, touch screen is slow to respond. Using the delete key has caused Safari to freeze.
