Oct 5, 2014 12:25 AM in response to petermac87by htmanning,Sorry, but that's rubbish. Every single person who installs iOS 8 on an iPad 2 will get poorer performance over iOS 6 or 7. Perhaps they don't care or there problems aren't as serious as some mentioned here, but the performance is below what previous operating systems provided. If the release of iOS 8.0.1 doesn't prove my point then you're just not being objective. Why can't Apple allow people to downgrade to iOS 7? There is no good reason except they want everyone on the latest OS. That might be good for them, but it's not good for the consumer.

Oct 5, 2014 7:34 AM in response to petermac87by Ken Haggerty,We are not a "minuscule 1%" of users. We are a substantial number of (currently....) loyal, repeat Apple customers, invested in their hardware and software, in many cases, for years or decades. And; we are on the brink, as a result of this debacle, of turning to the ever increasing number of viable and powerful alternatives their products. To this, my friend, Apple should pay heed.

Oct 5, 2014 9:50 AM in response to torbenhpby dvu,iOS 8 is working fine on iPhone 5s but very buggy on iPad 2, especially causing Safari slow down and crashing. Apple needs to acknowledge this issue.

Oct 5, 2014 10:41 AM in response to petermac87by torbenhp,Pete, if you don't have anything to contribute with then you should leave the discussion... Mocking those of us that are frustrated with the lack of response from Apple does not belong here!

Oct 5, 2014 11:27 AM in response to Dunnster09by BikeBookBread,I have held off updating my 64G iPad 2. Did 8.0.2 improve your iPad 2 performance Dunster09?
(I have not updated the two iPad Minis in our home, which is too bad, because the parental control improvements are outstanding). My husband did put his 64G iPad 3 on 8.0, and had SIM card problems. Once 8.0.2 was applied, his SIM card problems disappeared, but he still experiences what he calls "herky-jerky" app performance. They load quickly, but never with that smooth textbook "Apple feel".)

Oct 5, 2014 12:06 PM in response to flygreg88by Dr.Chris_,After installing iOS 8.0.2 update to my iPad mini, Safari does not work - I am unable to enter new website addresses into the browser and connect to that website. When I attempt this, Safari crashes.
Embedded into the software are specific website links. One of which is Yahoo. As a work-around until Apple fixes this Bug, I clicked on Yahoo and used their search engine to find the websites that I wanted to visit. It worked! So if any of you are experiencing the same difficulties, you may want to try this work-around.
I have provided feedback to Apple. Hopefully, the necessary update to fix this problem will be available soon.
