Nov 7, 2014 3:00 PM in response to David Schwartzerby GASusiQ,Been there and did all that. Numerous times. So now you have an iPad with no apps on it? Did you add any apps back? How do you determine which apps were corrupt and causing the problems? What good is my iPad if I can't hsve my apps on it?

I would suggest doing the restore and see how it works. Hope this helps.
You're right ... and I can see why you've accumulated a number of points from other users ... you go about it in an intelligent fashion!

She said it was WORTHLESS, all the while. On the other hand -- I said it would work PERFECTLY FINE. I said that instead of her throwing it in the trash, I would pay for shipping, myself for her worthless device.
Someone else said that I was "profiting" by the transaction. I replied and asked how I could profit from a worthless device and at the same time take money out of my pocket to pay for shipping ... LOL ...

Nov 7, 2014 6:03 PM in response to David Schwartzerby miriamfromrockport,I will try this as well.
I did the transparency thing and the movement thing, took out tons of pics and apps and those things helped but can't find my book marks, or down load magazines but will persevere.

Nov 8, 2014 12:28 PM in response to flygreg88by debfromky,Just cancelled the purchase of 3 Ipads that I had planned on getting for my grandchildren for Christmas
I refuse to deal with a company that refuses to address the issues that they have created for so many Ipad users.
.I personally know of six people besides me who have pretty much had our Ipads disabled and or aren't able to use with any consistancy since the 8.0 downlad and then the even lousier patch 8.01 which actually corrected nothing ..but did make many things worse
Apple has proved to many that they are no longer the Apple of the past..but are emerging as a company who is more interested in pushing newer failed products than maintaining a useful stable product
There are many people who don't have the means to hook up to a PC and go thru the steps of taking their Ipads back to factory settings to fix the issues with this download..
Nor should they have to do this..They did nothing wrong..This is and was an issue with Apple who was in such a sorry *** rush to push this download they never worried one second about what it would do to users who have older products that were in good working order..
Maybe that was Apple's whole game plan..
Taking out the older products right before the Christmas Season hoping that these users would replace the older Ipads Ipods Phones etc with new products..
I for one will never buy another Apple Product and have blasted them all over the web ..
Recommending that people steer clear of them as they cannot be counted on to maintain a stable product and or stable updates for the products..
In fact they do the opposite nowadays
Such a shame to see what happens to a good company when new blood takes over.. Steve Jobs You Are Missed

Nov 8, 2014 12:34 PM in response to David Schwartzerby AvidGameFan,I think this is a bit different than what was described previously.
I ended up having to restore my iPad and installed iOS 8 "fresh", but I did attempt to restore from backup to get my stuff - photos, music, etc. I suppose if there's "junk" causing problems, the junk could be there again
I had a bit more luck using Chrome than Safari, but I still have intermittent problems with things like the copy/paste
I have since upgraded to 8 .1, and it doesn't seem to change the browser weirdness, but overall, I don't see slowdowns are or negative effects overall. I have often had problems with, say, Facebook hanging under iOS 7, so I can't blame iOS 8 or 8.1 for FB crashing. I'd say most of what I do is either FB or browser based.
Using this forum is actually the worst experience I've had with 8.1. Other browser use hasn't been bad, but this editor is doing something weird where it becomes unresponsive.
Anyway, I look forward to 8.1.1, and we'll see if that fixes things up. Overall, I don't see problems with 8.1, and it certainly isn't a "paperweight" as someone posted before.

Nov 8, 2014 12:41 PM in response to GASusiQby AvidGameFan,He's not saying that the apps themselves are causing problems, just that there might be some bad/old/stale data that is corrupting "something". When you load everything "fresh" as if you bought the computer at the store, you can't blame junk data as the cause of a problem. It's plausible.
It's worth a try if you're at wit's end and ready to give up.
Myself, it just doesn't seem so bad. I'll install the update when it comes out and see if that does better.
By the way, as for the comments about re-installing old versions, very few manufacturers allow this. I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Well, that might be a problem except for the fact the overwhelming and vast majority of users don't have a problem. Besides that fact, many of those who have had problems - have solved them here. That's along with those who never had the problems in the first place, here on this forum.
Now, the FACT of the matter is that Apple does NOT refuse to address problems that may exist with their customers. They have EXCELLENT customet support. For anyone who wants it, go to the following links ...

BUT ... what puzzles me, here, is "Where is your tech support question? And why are you violating the Terms of Use for this forum?"

That is a WHOLE LOT MORE RATIONAL report than some of what we've seen here. Thanks for bringing in a fresh breath of reality here!

Where do you take this data from? My impression is most of the users that upgraded have some issues, hence this discussion here is ongoing. Of course, many users avoided that by not upgrading to iOS 8 as they somehow anticipated even worse performance than iOS 7 (like myself), but apparently some others hoped when Apple allowed that, it would not make their product unusable. So what debfromky is trying to say it's they might have done this on purpose to drive their stagnant (yes, iphone sales are booming but ipad sales were not rising in many last months) sales. And he is so disgusted, he would not now buy any of them.
