Q: Problems After update to iOS 8 on ipad 2

Hello community,

please pay attention when you update your iPad 2 from iOS 7 to 8. The whole useability of my iPad broke down and their are many problems using my iPad now. Everthing is really slow and I always need a restart to connect to my service provider with 3G. The following problems occurred on my iPad:

  • Safari is working realy slow and sometimes brake down
  • mail is also realy slow and most of the functions sometimes don't work or hang
  • 3G connection fails anytime you switch on the iPad and needs a restart

TO Apple:

please improve this version of iOS and submit your update asap, otherwise my iPad is not usable anymore and lose me as a customer.

thx.

I Have reviewed the responses and have to say all correspondents are in one voice! Shame on Apple. This is an official forum yet still and persistently the company fails to respond to critical observations on product performance. without feedback or updates from Apple how do we know they understand let alone care about their products poor performance post IOS 'Upgrade'?

c'mon, people. If enough of us galvanise and put pressure on through social media then surely we should receive a remedial fix to our problems. If not, then why bother posting here? We're whistling in the wind!

Yes! And my Ipad 2 says always "NO SIM".

The support thinks its broken, but I think it is ios8.

I am also having the same problems. The whole system is much slower and my 3G connection is not reliable anymore. Most of the time I receive a No Signal message.

My ipad won't even turn on now! I've lost all my photos, apps, contacts everything is gone and all my screen does is glitching black and white no logo just a weird light sliding left to right like the slide to unlock light but across my whole screen on yeah and I've done two full restores now and have haf no progress. And with no help from Apple because they want me to pay 19 dollars to ask for help on a problem that only occurred because of their stupid update!!! My ipad worked like a charm before this supposed "best update ever" I am thoroughly upset with apple.

Glad the solution worked for you too.

to the reat of the community, you may like to gv this a try:

    1. Open a few webpages in Safari (i had 6 tabs openned)

    2. Go to the last tab on the right & "pinch the page" with 2 fingers (the screen will reduce into 6 mini tabs).

    3. Select any one of the mini tabs.

When Safari resumed normal size after Step 3, my iPad3's regained 80% of it's original zappiness, like magic. All other apps can scroll smoother & I'm a happy iPad3 (iOS8) owner again

***now i wonder if i should risk upgrading to iOS 8.0.2, after regaining 80% of original iPad smoothness. Will you?

Seriously though, Apple can go **** itself. I will never buy another apple device again if they don't fix this, or allow iPad 2 users to roll back to ios 7. I think they have purposefully destroyed my device to try to force me to upgrade.

I agree, I am from Amsterdam, Holland. Updated iPad last Friday. From then on it immediately did shut down. Before allowing IOS8 update my iPad was perfectly allright. Support seems to be alienated from reality. I have been twice to iCentre in Amsterdam. I now left my iPad and it seems impossible , even for the so called specialists, who actually are helpful. Mind you they are non Apple people, it is a private company. I got a  messge back from Apple support that my email cant be accepted. What is next? I will go back to the shop tomorrow and see. Though if it still cant be reset by a specialist and it was perfectly allright just before updating with IOS8, it is a huge problem caused by Apple. Right now I am disappointed and upset with them, support seems a customerservice which actually is not offering service. I just want my iPad working again like it was operating before updating with IOS8. And otherwise a new iPad. Their problem, read software not functioning well and causing problems around the globe became my problem. I want that they take responsibility.
Business wise it is costing me money, my QPR App I cant use right now and QuantumPainRelief.com app can only be used on Apple. To start with, Apple should popen a servicedesk just for IOS related issues. How difficult can that be for such a company prophessing they are bringing state of the art products to the market place. It feels like they are feeling superior and arrogance eventually leads to a fall of a company. Steve Jobs isnt here anymore to save your butts, SO....Apple what are you gonna do regards to customers service!!!!!??????
