Q: Iphone 5 not responding.

i just upgraded to ios 8 and after the update my IP5 was not recognizing my sim so i had to reset my network settings and now i am unable to activate it as it says insert a sim in the iphone. I even tried restoring it in recovery mode but it said, the connection timed out. Somebody please help me.
