no sound while playing games iphone 6

I had the same problem and did not find answer to this on forums.But at last I went back to my settings and found that I had disabled the ‘notifications ‘ due to irritating pop ups on my lock screen and then there lies the answer.you really don’t have to disable the notification,just enable it and disable those options below except for ‘sound’.So got to setting-enabled notifications-enabled sound—-problem fixed

Check to make sure that your iPhone is not on mute. Check out the article below to verify that as some audio will only play if your iPhone is not on mute.

I have the same problem with iphone 6 sound not working all of a sudden even when the phone isn't on mute. Adjusting volume also did nothing to restore the sound. I hear that this is an iOS 8 problem. Is Apple aware of it so an update to fix can be released?

It's the stupid switch on the side of your iPhone, the one above the volume controls. The rotate switch I believe. Switch it to the other setting and try. Evidently it makes some games think it's a mute switch. So annoying.

This worked for me switching the mute button on. Now the volume is back on my games

omg.. i racked my brains for two weeks thinking it was a bug or the game or the setting ..until i just read this. Thanks.. it was just the switch ugh!! lol

OMG! I was going crazy with this, and it was this little stupid switch all along. Funny thing is that the phone is "on mute" but music, youtube, etc still plays. I use iPhone only because at work we HAVE to use it.

I still have my personal Android device.

and Siri stll makes its noise
