Apple does not post here. We all are users like you in this user-to-user forum.

I dont understand the reasons why Apple removed the application in iOS8 I have searched forum after forum and none of it makes any sense.
One obvious reason for iPhoto not being able to launch is, that iPhoto is not compatible with iOS 8. iPhoto would have to have been updated to work with iOS 8. It would have been a major new release, because iOS 8 replaced the frameworks that are needed for image processing and graphics, and photos are now stored differently on your devices. The code would have had to use the new frameworks Image Kit, Cloud Kit, App Extensions, see: https://developer.apple.com/ios8/
It was Apple's decision not to upgrade iPhoto for iOS 8, but to make it possible to migrate iPhoto libraries to the new Photos.app instead. This way we do no longer have to switch between Photos and iPhoto. Haven continually to remember which of the two apps to use has not been very convenient either. Photos is the successor to iPhoto, if we like it or not. Unfortunately, Photos is still lacking essential features of iPhoto and right now in no way an adaquate successor - no tags and custom album, no caption, no brushes, no books, no journals, no Info panel. I am still waiting for updates to Photos, that will turn it into a true Photo Library, that can be organized with tags, captions, smart albums, that allows us to inspect the meta data of our photos, and that offers advanced image adjustments, that can be brushed in locally, most importantly a retouch brush.

Oct 25, 2014 12:01 PM in response to CS.atby léonie,For the iPad there is now Pixelmator for iPad available. It has retouch brushes and other editing tools. And it can store the edited versions on iCloud Drive, so they are immediately available on a Mac. Only a version for the iPhone is still missing.

Pixelmatr has several templates for collages and frames or cards, and you can store the photos on iCloud drive, but it does not support journals.
