5th Gen iPod iOS8 Update issues: Stuck in recovery mode.

I have an iPod touch 5th generation with 32GB. I plugged it in order to charge it when it asked me if I wanted to update. I figured it wouldn't be a problem, so I clicked 'download and update'. It took about 40 minutes, but lost connection when I bumped the cable. I plugged it back in and was informed it was in Recovery Mode. I went through the process of recovery, and nothing happened. I am running through it a second time, hoping for the best. Is there any way to get my iPod back up and in working order. Memory shouldn't be an issue as I nave more than 20GB available.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

So here is what happens. When I click to restore it goes through the process of downloading the latest software (40 minutes). When it gets to the end it says it detects a device that needs recovery and asks if I want to recover, and goes through the same procedure of downloading the latest software. It has done this 3 times like it is stuck in a loop.

JRQC: It finally worked. I tried putting it in DFU mode (see above posts) and it worked. I have no idea if I was successful in actually getting it in that mode, but it worked this time. The one difference I noticed was my screen was black, just as if it was turned off. All the other times my screen was on and giving me a message to plug it into iTunes. Try putting it in DFU mode and run it though the process.
