notes lost after upgrade to ios 8

I have an iPhone 5s, and after I upgraded to iOS 8 I lost all my notes. They were only on my iPhone, not in iCloud. No there is no notes on my iPhone. The only way to get my notes back was to downgrade to iOS 7 and restore from last backup. I want to upgrade to new iOS, but I want my notes to be on my iPhone too! I don't want to copy-paste one-by-one note, because it's just crazy and it won't save the date of the notes.

I can't find the way to just move my notes to iCloud either.

Is there any way to have both iOS 8 and my existing notes on my iPhone?

I didn't sync my notes, they were only on my iPhone. That's the only place I needed them and used them. I can't restore from backup on iOS8, because it says I don't have enough space on my iPhone (there is 8.7 GB of free space, I don't know how much more it needs!). The only way I could restore it on iOS8 was to do hard restore. But after that my notes were still missing. They are in this backup, but they show up only in iOS7. I guess it has to do with upgraded notes app in iOS8, maybe the app just can't recognize the old ones anymore.

I am having similar problems with my Notes app files partially disappearing after using my iPad Air with iOS 8.

I have a Microsoft Exange account which use to properly sync my notes, contacts and email across all of my devices (iPad Air, iPhobe 4 and MacBook Pro).

After upgrading my iPad Air to iOS 8, I noticed that each day when I access Note files from my iPad Air, it causes info contained in my Notes App to delete while I'm adding new info throughout the day (ie, it deletes sentences and paragraphs from the bottom the Note file). Therefore, when I access the Note file on another device (eg, my MacBook Pro or iPhone 4), I discover that my file is missing the lower half of the data since the faulty iPad Air data synced to my non-effected devices.

AS an aside, I've noticed that some of my contacts are mysteriously disappearing. I'm beginning to notice that when a call from a prior contact shows up without the name and only displays the phone number. The contact has totally disappeared.

HELP!

This doesn't help! I tried it a couple of times, nothing works. Notes app shows "no notes" and that's it.

I have a backup that contains my notes, but they appear only if I downgrade to iOS7, and when upgrading to iOS8 and restoring data from that same backup, no notes are shown in the app.

I gave up and manually copied all my notes from a backup to iOS8 Notes. I'm really disappointed and surprised that developers didn't think it through when updating the app. No backward compatibility? Sigh...

I'm not sure where your issue might be. Are you syncing notes from an email provider? I have not had any issues with my notes in Outlook on an iPhone 5S running iOS8.0.2. No issues moving from iOS7 to 8, and then up. I find it interesting that they only show in iOS7 for you. You seem to be using the native Notes app, correct?

I have the same problem,

I 'upgraded' my iPhone 5S to iOS8, after which the phone kept crashing with blue screen, nothing would work sometimes, I managed to backup the phone in iTunes when it was on 8.0.2 but the phone died, Apple was good enough to supply me with a new phone but it had 8.1 on it, I still have a copy of the backup from the old phone, but if the problem was a software issue, i didn't want to restore from that backup. So now, as i didn't use iCloud to store my notes, i do not have access to the old notes. is there any way i can just get the notes from the .ipsw file?

Same issue. Just upgraded ipad4 to ios8 and all the notes are gone. Before upgrading, I took a full backup. Disconnected after backup. Reconnected. Did upgrade. Went through setup. Rebooted ipad. Reconnected. Did restore from backup, chose the backup I had just taken. Everything is back, the only thing missing is the notes. Is there some way to identify the file that contains the notes and recovery it manually?
