Have you contact Verizon and had them check to make sure your account is properly set up? Sometimes a change of equipment can cause a glitch. Have you tried resetting your network settings? Settings>General>Reset Network Settings. What steps have you taken?

When I try to bring up Visual Voicemail from the Phone app, it says like I have dialed into the VM system by dialing in, sorry your don't have access. That is when I tried calling Verizon for support. They said my account was setup correctly with "Visual Voicemail" and I can't dial in to get voice mail because its an iPhone account that is supposed to be setup with Visual Voicemail. I also just tried the network reset, and that didn't change anything. I haven't seen anything on the web about this specific problem and I'm wondering if anybody else has seen this problem? A friend that got a iPhone 6+ also says he has what he describes as a similar problem.

i Apreciate your help the other day. IOS 8.0.2 still has not helped me get visual voicemail to work. Any more ideas?

Voicemail is a carrier function. You need to contact Verizon again and have them reset your voicemail. I know you talked to them already and your account is set up for it, but it needs to be reset. That is something they should know about, it is something recommended here a lot. The same as if you forgot your voicemail password. It should only take a moment of their time. Once it is reset you will be prompted for a password, set that and it should work fine.
I'd take the matter up with Verizon again. I really think the problem is on their end. You may have to keep pushing to get through to Tier 2 tech support.

Good point, Meg. Verizon tier 1 support is pretty much useless. The turnover is so fast that they don't have time to complete their training.
However, one thing to try if you haven't yet is to reset the phone. Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears. You will not lose any data.

I'm sure they're perfectly nice people trying to do their best but they are really just regular customer service folks. They have about the same troubleshooting training as the reps in the stores as I understand it.
Hi there... My girlfriend just activated her iPhone 6 with Verizon on Monday and her visual voicemail wasnt working.
I recognized it when I was on the phone having it activated for the first time, so I then spent another hour or so with tech support trying to fix it. Verizon tried resetting it on their end a few times with no luck, so we finished the call blaming it on iOS8 or the phone or a combo of both...
We went the week without worrying about it, as she could still dial into voice mail old school style, and tonight I decided to look into it. This was the first thread i stumbled upon, and, although some people thought it must be a Verizon problem, I decided to try to reset my network settings first. THIS WORKED! I reset my network settings and visual voicemail worked correctly right away.
It sounds like one of the posters may have a different problem since the network settings reset did not work for them, however,I wanted to post so other do not simply skip over this as an option. It worked for us, it could work for you!

I noticed the same, no visual voicemail. So I called myself (from another phone) and left a voicemail, and visual voicemail is back on my iPhone! It happened as soon as the voicemail notification came up on my phone.
Mine did the same thing. I upgraded yesterday to a 6, today the VVM was auto dialing the voice mail old school style. I called myself from a different number, left a message, and five seconds later received a notice of a new voice mail. VVM works find now.
This worked for me too. I just called and left a voicemail and .... POP! There it was again. =^)

Have you tried setting a voicemail passcode? Use the same one as your dial-in passcode.
Settings->Phone->Change Voicemail Password
It will probably ask you to set a new password. I did this on my phone and it worked.
