iOS 8.0.1 - Software Update Notification Badge

I got the update notification about iOS - 8.0.1 today for my iphone 5S. I went a head and downloaded it. While it was installing Apple pulled the update. My phone was stuck "Verifying The Update" for 2 hours, until I discovered that the Update was pulled. I turned the phone off, checked to see what software version was being used, and it was still 8.0. I then went to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage and deleted 8.0.1 to get the gig of wasted space back.

Now however I still have a Red Update Badge for "Software Update", when I click on it it says "Your software is up to date." Does anybody know of a way to remove this Badge?

I've also got a Red Update Badge for my Voicemail. Clicking on it says 'Visual Voicemail is currently unavailable." I can't get rid of this Badge either. Any ideas?

Well not sure what else other than the restore. You can call VM the old fashion way and clear out messages then see if it resets. The network settings is a known fix for this issue. And make sure your cellular data has not been turned off. Here is a support document from Apple regarding VM issues but it basically says to do the same things. A few more items on there you may want to look at. Sorry want much help.

Get help with visual voicemail on your iPhone

You could do a restore and restore your backup but I would just sit tight. The update will re-release soon and you can actually update and it should go away then.. Visual voicemail requires cellular data to be on so check that. Try and toggle Airplane mode. If that does not help have someone call you and leave a message, sometimes that will reactivate it. Lastly reset network settings. settings>general>reset and select network only. That will drop all your wifi connections so be aware of that.

Ah that makes since now. No cellular signal means Visual voicemail wont work. Restoring the phone is most likely what you are going to have to do. The update didn't break iP5's but if it stopped in the middle it could have. Or if it applied the update but never activated because Apple had already pulled it. I would try get the ISPW and manually update. Here is info on the process http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/24/6839347/fix-for-bad-ios-8-0-1-update
