Does it boot into FW Target Disk Mode, where use of
FireWire cable could be used to backcheck the HDD?

Too, there is a slight chance this reset may stir some life into it:

Not sure what else to check. I have a later model aluminum PB 12"
that has several issues, it was gifted to me and wasn't working. So
a matter of troubleshooting, which I did, led me to consider a pro
repair service. Years ago, I'd used wegenermedia for a hardware
repair to a 2001 iBook G3 white 500MHz 12" & it was so happy.
So, however badly you want to wake it up, there may be a few extra
motions involved. Sadly, an infusion of caffeine via keyboard won't.
Good luck & happy computing!
