Wake for network access - Power Nap

Prior to Maverick, I was able to remotely wake my sleeping mac by sending it an email. Mail on the remote mac would then trigger an AppleScript to launch TeamViewer and that was it. Now with Maverick, Mail doesn't even get emails while at sleep even if Wake for network access is checked and Mail is active and configured to check emails every 5 minutes. I tried various settings with no success so far...
