Has anybody experienced wifi syncing with iTunes broken since iOS 8?

Since iOS 8 my iPhone and iPad will not appear in iTunes for wifi syncing. Only works for a few minutes after I restart the devices then when I try to wifi sync error message says looking for iPhone or iPad then disappears from iTunes. Anybody have the same problem with the new iOS 8? By the way, I'm using a Mac. Was very good prior to iOS 8.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Your phone has to be connected to power since iOS 8. Had this issue as well until I realized that Apple has changed the way this works. If you navigate to Settings>General>iTunes Wifi Sync, you will see that it now reads that the phone has to be connected to power and on the same network in order to work. I wish Apple hadn't done this. Makes little sense to have to use a wire. Might as well just do a wired sync. I can understand setting a minimum battery percentage for the feature, but having to be connected all the time seems backwards.

I know that Settings>General>iTunes WiFi Sync says that the device has to be on power but I have found that it isn't necessary.

I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad mini both on iOS 8.0.2 and they appear in iTunes (on my iMac) under Devices via wifi and they sync via wifi. I just tested this to be certain.

As far as I can tell the solution to the wifi problem between iTunes and iDevices is (a) install 8.0.2 and (b) power all the devices (including the Mac) off then on.

Sorry guys just trying to help. Never noticed the "connected to power" dialogue before to be honest, so that's my bad. Like all of you I had zero issues doing this unplugged prior to iOS 8. Naturally I looked deeper and assumed that this had just changed. What's bizarre is that both my iPhone and iPad only show up if they are charging, so naturally I made an assumption based on my experience.
