Esc and Caps Lock not functioning on Apple bluetooth keyboard

The above mentioned keys have suddenly stopped functioning on my Apple Bluetooth keyboard. Checking with the keyboard viewer they are the only two keys that fail to light up when depressed (the caps lock key light does, however, light green when I click on the keyboard viewer button with my mouse). I've tried SMC and PRAM resets but to no avail. Battery is showing >50%. Is this likely to be a hardware fault?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

sounds like a hardware issue to me but would not hurt to test it with another computer any computer would work windows ones too

Hey Fred,

If you follow the steps in the article below you will be able to isolate weather this is hardware related to the keyboard or OS X installed on the mac.

One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond

HAve now established that it's definitely hardware (keyboard) related. Off to purchase a replacement keyboard tomorrow!
