I have the same question. I upgraded to IOS 8 last night and I have an iPad 2 3G (no gsm) with ATT and now it says "No Service" in the upper left hand corner and when I check the general settings > about, it says "Network Not Available" and "Cellular Data Number Unknown."

Same in Belgium, uzing Mobile Vikings / Base provider. Hard reset pushing home and on/off button brings back mobile connections, but it gets lost when the ipad2 tries to get WiFi.

I discussed the issue at the Apple store in Valencia/Spain while I was there, but they sais it's probably related to my provider. Year, sure.

No Apple store in Belgium.

HEllo, Apple ??

Prepared to try anything new to avoid having to do a full reboot several times a day since upgrading to 8.0.2.

My only surprise is that there are not many more people reporting the frequent drop of mobile data services as I'd expect most to experience this problem with an iPad 2 and a SIM card.

GIven that that there is no point having an iPad with SIM card for when you are out and about unless the mobile data connection is reliable then it is disappointing that at the very minimum Apple hasn't acknowledged it exists even if they are still working on a solution.

Unfortunately for their customers it is quite apparent that Apple do not care about the issues. If they did then we would have had at the very least an admission that there was a genuine problem. I know that people state that Apple don not participate in this community, but they do check to see what is going on here as another member had a post pulled over the VPN issue in IOS7.

come on Apple, let's see some support for your customers.

I have got the same problem as all of you. iPad2 3G with at&t as carrier and I upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 and now I'm constantly loosing my cellular data 3G connection... I have tried everything mentioned in this support group, but it doesn't solve the problem..... The only thing which works, is to power off my device and then it connects to at&t 3G netowrk again, - for a while, until I close the cover..... Not good enough at all.

I'm now so dissatisfied with apple and all kind of issues which never works with new updates etc. that I seriously consider to drop iPad and iPhone and go to Android and by a Samsung phone instead of a iPhone 6. I might consider buiyng a Windows Surface instead of a new iPad....

apple must do better in the future and Tim Cook and his keynotes only stating only how good apple is.....sounds somehow quite hollow..... and very predictable and too boring...... there is no exitement any longer... Come on apple, - you can do better.....

Turning off the FaceTime iphone cellular calls seems to be working for me. I had some weird issues with FaceTime just after I first installed ios 8: automatically came on, ipad answered my iPhone, said I had a missed call with no way to reset. It might be worth the effort to go through the settings and turn off other apps that use cellular data until you identify the offending one(s).
