Sep 30, 2014 4:43 AM in response to derVampirby Fraggel81,Same here.
Tried the following solutions
- reset device, this works only temporarily
- reset network settings, this requires a reboot, so see above
- do a factory reset, this also requires a reboot, but works only temporarily
- replace SIM card
- disabled iCloud 3g sync as explained in previous posts, does not work
- disabled FaceTime cellular cals, no solution
- to 8.02, this reboots the device, only a temporarily solution

Sep 30, 2014 8:57 AM in response to hawthornejmby Homersson,Just adding another report of the same problem in hopes numbers will encourage Apple to make the fix a higher priorit. iPad 2, AT&T, IOS 8.02, no service comes on intermittently. Tried all the fixes suggested in this and other threads, but power off-power on is the only fix, but that only temporary.

Sep 30, 2014 9:02 AM in response to Homerssonby K-in-Berlin,I have the same problem on my iPad 2 since installing this terrible update to 8.0.2: my iPad loses 3G service without warning and the only way to get it back is to restart the iPad. The network is German Telekom and I called my provider, Mobilcom and went through all settings with them on the phone with no remedy for the problem. They say th whole thing is an Apple OS problem. Obviously, as my iPad has worked perfectly since I bought it 2 years ago.
I tried all the fixes posted here with no luck.
Apple! help!!! this is crap!

Sep 30, 2014 5:32 PM in response to jmca810by Robert Powell3,IIn os 8 while on wffi you can use the iPad to make phone calls and answer them too.i think is what is happening is os 8 is overriding the 3G and making the connection through the iPhone and disabling the 3G part of the iPad .when you are out of your wifi the 3G will work but when you get back to your own wifi or connected to a wifi is when it happens

Oct 1, 2014 12:52 AM in response to Robert Powell3by K-in-Berlin,You may very well be correct, I only loose the 3G service when the iPad is connected to WiFi. But having to restart the iPad to get 3G back is a total drag.
I'm sure it is just something stupid in the new OS ... but Apple needs to FIX THE PROBLEM asap as it is really annoying.

Instead of no service I now get the carrier and dots but no 3G Works fine on wireless. Can't get a Genius Bar appt which is more frustrating

Oct 1, 2014 1:29 AM in response to hawthornejmby Feikki,Same device, same problem. There are also other threads discussing this issue and multiple threads discussing WiFi connectivity after the upgrade to iOS 8. I'm having issues with both cellular and WiFi. The problems are widespread, and it's unclear if Apple is doing something about it.

Oct 1, 2014 6:39 AM in response to hawthornejmby MrSnypy,I also have severe problems with my iPad 2's cellular data after the iOS 8 update. iOS 8.0.2 did very little to improve the situation. There is only a temporary fix: restarting my ipad. That works for a while, though, as after a short period of time I lose Internet reception again. I talked with my provider--T-mobile--and the problem is on Apple's side obviously. I hope they fix the issue soon or at least allow me to downgrade to iOS 7.

Oct 1, 2014 7:10 AM in response to MrSnypyby eddie123,Folks, it appears that this issue is pretty wide spread. Similar to the issue with VPN on IOS 7 in that it took Apple months to resolve it without ever admitting they had a problem. So disappointing from a company that think they are innovators in technology. They would probably do well in the used car industry.
Right now all they are doing is managing to annoy and alienate their loyal customers. By being silent on the issue we don't know if they are working on a solution!!
A very disgruntled Apple user.
