precautions before selling iphone 4s

Hello,

I did -> Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings, but it did not ask for any icloud id & password, I assume it means I had disabled find my iphone before reset, right? Now, will it ask for cloud id & password during re-activation?

Please advise.

Yes, the next owner will face a locked device where he must enter your Apple ID and password in order to unlock it.

I'd recommend following steps:

1) Disable Find my iPhone

2) Log off from iCloud, delete everything from your device

3) Disable FaceTime and iMessage

4) Do a full restore (w/o backup) in iTunes

This way, your phone is fully wiped and ready to sell. Erasing content and settings inside iOS does not apply a whole new image of the operating system, it only erases all data which could be less safe if you want to sell it.
