Sep 25, 2014 12:12 PM in response to Andy Rovsterby randers4,What is preventing you from adding him anyway? I'm not using Family Sharing, but from want I've read the setup process only requires you to create a child ID for him and invite him to the family group. Is that not the case?

Sep 25, 2014 12:15 PM in response to Andy Rovsterby Kilgore-Trout,The mail service doesn't matter. He will just need his own AppleID to add to the family plan.

Sep 25, 2014 12:48 PM in response to randers4by Andy Rovster,You are correct.
In my case:
1. He established an Apple ID a long time ago.
2. When he received the 'Invitation' by me, the Organizer, to join Family Sharing, he was instructed to open it via iCloud or Apple Mail. He uses Yahoo.
I think I am explaining this properly. If I am missing something, please feel free to tell me. I would love to learn.

Sep 25, 2014 12:49 PM in response to Kilgore-Troutby Andy Rovster,Not exactly correct, I believe.
In my case:
1. He established an Apple ID a long time ago.
2. When he received the 'Invitation' by me, the Organizer, to join Family Sharing, he was instructed to open it via iCloud or Apple Mail. He uses Yahoo. I t is as if Yahoo can not direct him to the final destination. I am stumbling in explaining it accurately, I know. Please forgive me.

Sep 25, 2014 12:53 PM in response to Andy Rovsterby randers4,I would assume that the invitation would be sent to the primary email address associated with his Apple ID. Have you checked to see if it might be in his junk/spam folder?

Sep 25, 2014 1:07 PM in response to Andy Rovsterby Kilgore-Trout,That sounds like his iCloud mail is set as the primary on his AppleID.

Sep 25, 2014 4:20 PM in response to Kilgore-Troutby Andy Rovster,James:
I was not sure if you received just your own replies, or saw both conversations. Apparently, it's both.
I was trying to answer each persons questions directly.
To answer yours: No, Yahoo is the primary email set up on the AppleID. He has an iCloud email as a secondary.
But, somehow, after 3 tries, I was able to establish the Family Sharing on his devices. Not sure why the first ones didn't work.. Most likely parental error combined with old age! Nonetheless, thank you for assisting and hanging in there!
