Q: I am travelling. How can I fix this without access to my iTunes account?

The article talks about having to use a a desk/laptop to revert to the old iOS. I dont have access to mine. So, am I out of luck?

Afraid so. The ONLY way to accomplish this is via iTunes on a computer.

Unfortunately you need access to iTunes in order to downgrade. A new update, ios 8.0.2, will be out in a few days. If you have access to the internet on your phone you can update it through your phone by going to settings>general>software update.

Thoughts on going to a carrier's location (AT&T). Might they be able to help?

It would be unlikely that they would help you but if they are local it is worth a shot. Your best bet would be to see if there are any Apple retail stores in your location.

Carrier, Apple store, or simply download iTunes on any available PC. Backup, Restore then you can remove it.
