Safari history not working, ios8

HOLDING the Back Arrow in Safari should bring up a menu of recenty history, it still does ~but~ it's 2 days out of date. It's very strange. I see things in the list I was looking at a few days back, not stuff that I have just been browsing.

Navigating through the painful bookmarks side menu to history, reveals a correct list of history items.

ADditionally HOLDING the + icon should show recent tabs, but mine is always empty.

Hey there Riquez,

It sounds like your Safari app is not showing the correct history, and not showing recently closed tabs.
I would start by quitting all the running apps first:

iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Hello Sterling R

I see you're a specialist, maybe you know how to solve my issue!

My rMacBookPro is on Yosemite 10.10, my iPhone 6 is on iOS 8.1.

Both are clean installed.

Both use the same Apple/iCloud ID.

Both have iCloud Drive activated.

Everything works in iCloud except one thing, the Safari history.

My tabs, bookmarks, reading lists, passwords... are syncing well, but it seems my browsing history isn't synced at all!

I tried to logout from iCloud on both devices, I made a restart, login to iCloud again. Same problem.

I hope you know the issue 😀

Hello, I've found 2 steps to do in order to get: SAFARI HISTORY SYNC WORKS 😀

I've found this solution posted by Linc Davis, I tried both solution then I was thinking it didn't work.

But after 10 min or so, the history was syncing well, from my iPhone to my Mac and vice versa.

Here is the solution, look for the 2nd message from Linc Davis.

Safari does not store history or sync my iCloud bookmarks

I really hope it will solve your issue. 😉
