HELP Importing CD's and iPhone 4S grayed out on phone

Someone please HELP 😢 - Every time I download a CD into iTunes, i can see & play it on my Macbook but on my iPhone either I can SEE it and it's grayed out and I can't play it OR it's not there at all. I have iTunes Match, and updated software on all devices etc... I have a macbook pro, iPhone 4S, iPad.

My iTunes Match is 'ON',

I have read through forums and it seems this problem has happened to others; i followed those directions but nothing is allowing me to unlock the 'grayed out' music. I need the music for my work because I'm a fitness professional... I really can't take this %$#$#%#$% anymore.

Is it possible iTunes Match is the problem? I can't imagine so because when I turn it off then the problem gets worse (a lot of my music doesn't show up on phone at all). I've been an apple iPhone user since pre iCloud and All these issues with iTunes seem to begin with the creation of iCloud.....

Has anyone resolved this issue of imported CD's not playing/showing in music folder on iPhone?
