THis is not a matter of preference. You claimed that AirPlay was moved to command center with ios7 implying that the user who oppened this thread did not use ios7 but AirPlay icon was in safari in iOS 7 and was gone with iOS 8.
YOu are trolling because you are writing an answer that has nothing to do with the subject. You are stating a commonly known fact thata has nothing to do with tha fact that AirPlay icon is not showing up in safai when you watch video.
USer ShadowDust also gave an answer similar to yours but it is workaround and it could be helpful to someone who did not know that. But claiming that AirPlay moved to CC with iOS 7 like it was the only way to it from iOS 7 is just not true.
Airplay was moved to the Notification center with the release of iOS 7 more than a year ago to make it accessible from everywhere and to facilitate the use of Airplay Mirroring. I believe this is the only logical implementation and is much better than having it embedded in every app that needs it.
It did but it was still there in safari. If you did not use it for streaming videos to apple tv from safari, and I guess you didn't, you can't say that's better. When the video started it went to full screen and there was a Airplay icon. That was better, and smarter.
The answer you gave is a trolling and you are troll. If you do not have the right answer do not answer just to answer.
We all know how to get to it from control center but it is just not it. It is just like saying that there is no need for iMessages because you can get a ms messenger app, and that is much better.
SOmething that took one tuch now takes a few moments, and it stops video, than takes it back, then video stops, etc.

It's a matter of preference. You think one way, others think another. You have the answer. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't make people who provided the answer or disagree with you a troll. It's the correct information as it is today.
Good luck.
This isn't really true. On iOS 7 when watching a video on Safari, it it was full screened the AirPlay function is still available on the video itself, so it streams just the video to your Apple TV instead of mirroring the display (which is a stupid solution to what the OP is asking for).
You can still do this in iOS 8 and I know this because I was using it last night to watch Anime from Safari on my Apple TV. Make sure your AppleTV is on and connected to the wi-fi, and make sure to check other websites. Not all websites support this function.
It's not correct, although AirPlay is now available through the notification centre, it's also still available on the video itself like the OP is asking for. Please make sure the information you're giving is correct before claiming so.
I have been checking this all day and I have found some webpages that gives me the AirPlay icon when video starts but it is gone when I put it on fullscreen. When I check pages I was watching before just some of them show AirPlay icon and some don't. But all of them miss this option on fullscreen.
I Would like to know why is that and could that be fixed. This is all new to iOS 8 because all of the pages I used to stream from had that.
Swipe up from the bottom of your screen, find the apple tv you would like to connect to, enable mirroring, and then (after a small wait) your video should show on your Apple TV
Yes, but this is not an answer. You can do that but this is something that changed nad not for better. AirPlay worked perfectly before, and now it is not.
