How do I permanently delete an app from my iPad and App Store?

I would like to permanently delete apps from my iPad and my Purchased list in the App Store. How do I do this? These apps are ones that I have tried and found to be useless or do not work correctly. I have deleted apps from iTunes Store, but I cannot get rid these unwanted apps on my iPad and this is very annoying.

Apple may think that users out there who may change their mind. However I am not one of them. If something is useless and does not work correctly, then I do not want to see it again. Some of these apps I have paid for, but I am prepared to accept that loss as a bad purchase. So Apple, please provide a facility to allow users to permanently delete apps from the App Store. Obviously, Apple would have to include the appropriate warnings that permanently deleting apps cannot be reversed.

Hello Carolyn

I know you can delete apps this way and they are removed from my iPad. However, I want to permanently delete useless apps from my purchased list in the app store. I do not want to see useless apps because I am no longer going to use them. I think Apple got their policy wrong about the app store and should allow users to permanently delete apps. If you change your mind, you can always download them again. If you purchased the app, then you have to pay for it again.

Hi ..

You can delete the currenlty installed apps. Hold down an app until all the apps jiggle. Then on each app tap the x then tap Delete. Press the Home button once to to stop the apps from jiggling.

And you can hide purchases > iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

But purchase history cannot be delete.

Apps can re downloaded using the same Apple ID for free > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Hello

I have managed to hide the unwanted apps in iTunes using the link from Carolyn Smit above and they no longer appear in my purchased list on my iPad. Everything looks a bit better now. However, the hidden apps are still there in my iTunes store account. Apple should update iTunes store so that you can permanently delete unwanted apps, not just hide them.
