Q: Why does iOS 8.0.2 not resolve the issue of WiFi connectivity with iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6?

My iPhone 6 is still randomly disconnecting from my home WiFi, even after the latest OS update.  My spouse also has an iPhone 6 and has experienced no issues with WiFi connectivity.  When I spoke with Apple earlier in the week, I was told that they were aware of this issue with iOS 8 and would be working on a solution that should be released in 24 hours.  I have a $700+ phone that doesn't stay connected to WiFi.  Ridiculous.  Apple really needs to get it together.  This is the worst OS release yet.

I am having the same issue. Iphone 6 plus IOS 8.02. Wifi just stops working. Have to reset network settings for it to start working only to loose wifi after a few hours again. For a £700 phone this is not exceptable. What are you doing about this apple? The brand " Apple " was once a respectable name, it is starting to lose it's integrity.

What I found out on my new iPhone 6: It does not get any WLAN connection automatically. It sees the WLAN but will not get an IP address when "talking" to the DHCP server. This applies to 8.0 as well as to 8.0.2. Only if I use static IP settings the WLAN connections works well.

So it seems that the WLAN module basically works and reception is OK as well. But it cannot manage to get an IP address once in DHCP mode.

I have tried on 5 different WLANs/routers where iPhone 3GS, 5 and 5S will all get IP addresses w/o. any problems.

The "straight to voicemail" issue is a carrier issue, I've seen it happen with every new phone I get  - just call the carrier form your phone... they will probably ask for your IMEI number (find it in Settings->General->About) so you might want to write it down before you call..

TTry to reset the network. Go to general, reset, reset network settings. You will need to put wireless password again.

I have a brand new 6 Plus, gonna wait and just keep 8.0 noticed that 8.0.2 downloaded and sits there, how can you remove it?  Other than the health apps wich needed this update I am good and my new iphone does well in all situations.

This probably has been the best thread to demonstrate it is not just an Australian problem. I got a question booted because I was asking how may iphone 6 people had issues with original 8 and then with only 8.0.2.  (it is in the rules for this community).  My problem is all the news sources of apple things have forgotten about this issue with 8.0.2  and apple is busy moving on to selling in new countries and the things of next month (new imac, yosemite release, and such).  They may not read this but they sure pounced on my question polling who had this issue.

The only way it can be fixed is when Apple send out a fix. Hopefully they will send out an update soon, one that preferably works.

Yes I may wait til we get to 8.1 or something. It seems often that the 0.x releases still contain the issues of the orginal OS and OS version X.1 or X.2 finally clean things up. This of course is the big beta test of 8.0 and while I have no problem with 8.0 on my 6 Plus I am wary of these 0.0.x releases so far.
