Q: Why does iOS 8.0.2 not resolve the issue of WiFi connectivity with iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6?

My iPhone 6 is still randomly disconnecting from my home WiFi, even after the latest OS update.  My spouse also has an iPhone 6 and has experienced no issues with WiFi connectivity.  When I spoke with Apple earlier in the week, I was told that they were aware of this issue with iOS 8 and would be working on a solution that should be released in 24 hours.  I have a $700+ phone that doesn't stay connected to WiFi.  Ridiculous.  Apple really needs to get it together.  This is the worst OS release yet.

Strange that both my 5c and 5s has been working well w/o problems. Maybe because I am using an Apple Airport Extreme Router?

Yes I have an Apple Extreme and all devices work fine with that.  But my ISP BT Home Hub 5 does not play nicely with my iPad on iOS 8, but worked fine on iOS 7.

With iOS 8.0.2 in iPhone 5, there is no WiFi connectivity with hotspots (lately, Kaiser Permanente). Usually I expected to find its login html page, but it never showed up.

New iphone 6. i wasn't able to connect to the wifi. as recommended. Settings/General/Reset/Reset All Settings

issue solved!!  without router changes, etc..

i still wonder if its the hardware or the software.

Im still confused by the cellular "dots" showing when the cellular is turned off. I also have no cellular service area but have "dots".   i understand that this may be a marketing tactic.. the reception is stronger then samsung. but reality is hard to fool.

iphone 6 connecting to wifi without any change to router.

yes i have apple router, express, etc.

    good luck.

personally, not a supporter of apple iphones. but forced into purchasing one because of other reasons

Apple seriously hosed the 8.XX releases. I have an iPad 4 that worked wonderfully on 7.1.2. My "upgrades" to 8.0 and 8.02 have cut my wifi speeds less than half and app performance is very sluggish. There are some web pages that I can't even load anymore. Safari is close to useless (Chrome and Dolphin work a little better). I use my iPad partly for work, so this horrible performance has been very painful.

I've tried downgrading back to 8.0, but it has only helped slightly with fewer app crashes than 8.02. I've tried restoring, resetting network settings, restoring all settings, downgrading the firmware using DFU mode, turning airplane mode off/on, turning airdrop off/on. I did and full factory reset to both 8.0 and 8.02 and wifi was still ridiculously slow. I have two very different routers (NetGear Nighthawk and Apple TimeCapsule) -- the wifi performance is roughly the same on both. Although I have slightly fewer outright drops on the Apple router, it is still painfully slow. Also, running Speedtest isn't actually a good test for me. I can test the upload/download and the problem seems fixed, but as soon as I try to navigate to a web page in Safari or even open Mail, speeds are still very very slow.

Apple -- please, please, please start signing 7.1.2 again.

I have two issues - one with my Iphone 6 and one with an updated to 8.0.2 5s. Took my husband's non updated Iphone 4s and my phone 6 into town today (both same network, just in case you were wondering) and tried to get the free wifi from the coffee shop. The 4s found it straight away (strong network) along with a few other less strong networks nearby. My Iphone 6 kept showing a message of zero networks and then said could not scan for wireless networks. Left it for 5 minutes then tried again and it finally found them, but not as many as the 4s found.

The issue with daughter's Iphone 5s is that it has screwed up our home network (yes, on the right settings and no, no backups on Icloud as I don't use it for that at all). Does this help any of the diagnostics?

I bought my phone online and now it's so going back.

I am sick of all the drama Apple has been causing with its new phone and its new iOS

Me too. I would not buy an iPhone again. Since updating to iOS8.02 I can't connect to Wi Fi.  I'm a iPhone user since the beginning and this is the worst iOSx update of all.

iOS 8.0.2 is a debacle on the order of Windows ME so far in my opinion.

it has all but bricked my phone.   multiple restore factory settings, etc to no avail.

iphone 5s  wifi is **** slow since I updated it to ios 8.0.2

It isn't my router because my laptop and PC are fine.

my wifi is working fine even on Samsung Galaxy s3. I am able to stream movie on you tube on S3 but not on Iphone 5s.

even whats up messages take long to download on iphone 5s.

I have tried the following on the devices and nothing has changed!

    Turn Wifi on and off
    Forget Wifi network add again
    Reset Network Settings
Erase all content and restore from iTunes backup
Erase all content and restore as a new device- it will not let me do this! It keeps saying service isn't available

Change the network type to WPA Personal or Mixed WPA2/WPA -PSK. Save your changes. Reboot your router.

Try connecting to the network on your iPhone or iPad.

I am frustrated beyond belief! I shouldn't even have to try all these things and I'm even more frustrated the only way I can use my devices is by pulling from my Airtel cellular hotspot and use my data!

This needs to get fixed ASAP!
