Oct 3, 2014 1:59 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby abdurrahimfrom Malawi, iphone 5s wifi is **** slow since I updated it to ios 8.0.2
It isn't my router because my laptop and PC are fine.
my wifi is working fine even on Samsung Galaxy s3. I am able to stream movie on you tube on S3 but not on Iphone 5s.
even whats up messages take long to download on iphone 5s.
I have tried the following on the devices and nothing has changed!
Turn Wifi on and off
Forget Wifi network add again
Reset Network Settings
Erase all content and restore from iTunes backup
Erase all content and restore as a new device- it will not let me do this! It keeps saying service isn't availableChange the network type to WPA Personal or Mixed WPA2/WPA -PSK. Save your changes. Reboot your router.
Try connecting to the network on your iPhone or iPad.
I am frustrated beyond belief! I shouldn't even have to try all these things and I'm even more frustrated the only way I can use my devices is by pulling from my Airtel cellular hotspot and use my data!
This needs to get fixed ASAP!

Oct 3, 2014 2:14 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby as41,The Wi-Fi drop outs continue! Spoke to an AppleCare UK representative yesterday and advised that I had tried all the possible steps to resolve. He agreed and said it could only be down to hardware so best to get a replacement.
I honestly don't think it will resolve the issue but the problem is the advisor said I was the first one to report wifi issues so I don't think they are going to acknowledge any time soon!
What to do as my return date is Monday 6th and I'm on my third iPhone 6 Plus 64GB -
1. Had yellow screen in bottom left hand corner and also dropped connection once ( 8.0)
2. Had a yellow screen and decolouring across the whole screen (8.0)
3. My current one - great screen but continuous Wi-Fi drop out issues (8.0.2)!!
Do you think its worth risking it for another replacement?!

Oct 3, 2014 3:03 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby Lara129,I have the same problem with my iphone 6 it disconnects and when I try to reconnect it keeps asking me for the password and it makes me mad because I input the password correctly and it says 'incorrect password' or 'cannot connect'. I hope apple will act soon as this is the worst IOS they came up with.

Oct 3, 2014 3:15 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby mkummer,The WIFI dropouts are still in place - alas. My new 6 iPhone suffers from it as well as my iPad Air. Over time it got a little better, but I still get disconnected now and then. Hopefully that problem will be successfully solved by Apple soon, since it will cause a lot of disappointment in us loyal Apple users.
ALL that I tried to solve the problem did not help and believe me I tried it all.

This needs to
get fixed ASAP!Try a hard reset by holding down both the power and home key for about 10 seconds until it turns off then release when you see the white apple logo appear. Lots of problems are solved this way.

No not worth it now, first you got several rushed models with screen issues if they were 6 plus's that shows the issue reported with screen yields on the 6 plus keep one you have.
The issue is obviously the 8.0.x iOS. Look at how many 5s's, iPad airs and such have same issues. It is something in how iOS 8.0.x works with routers and their configurations, too many variable routers, (even airport extremes) and variable settings with all these and somethning in the new use of more WIFI bands with 8 and the new hardwarre of 6's is leading to conflicts with WIFI routers and their settings. Look at how some have no problems with apple routers others do, some have no problems (my 6 works fine on 8.0.2 on my home airport and office access point (some other company). I would keep this phone and wait for apple to acknowledge that the way they are doing WIFI connections in this release will have to do a better job in interfacing with the increasing variables of many routers, many users who know how to set routers up, others who go with default settings and so forth.
As one poster on one forum noted this seems to have been an issue with iOS 6 and iOS7, although this seems to be the worse iteration. Well 8 does deal wi th the newer WIFI standards, but some routers are not updated yet (firmware or too old). So you are gonna see this a pain for all of you but another phone will not solve it for you it is the WIFI routers you have available.

Oct 3, 2014 7:16 AM in response to as41by asdfqwertz,I decided that the only way to show Apple that I, the customer, care about the quality of an €800 phone is to send the non-working phone back instead of going through one drama after another with replacement that might be as buggy as the previous one.
My ipad2 and iphone 5 are working (more or less) perfectly with ios 8.0.2 in regards to WiFi which is why I am suspecting the hardware.
I am just worried that the next ios 8.0.x wont fix the problem with my phone 6 which is why I just sent it back.
Waiting in a store where they keep you waiting and waiting for no apparent reason is just not my idea of customer service.
All they ever do is apologize but all the apologies in the world won't fix my phone.
Just return it, get a refund and wait for iphone 6s or whatever they are gong to throw at us next.

Oct 3, 2014 9:12 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby qaelee,My iphone 6 plus is also having same issue , i just got it a week ago. Previously i used iPhone 5 updated to iOS8 and also encountered same wifi problems as yall. So tonight i am at the peak of my anger about this wifi problem , then i actually came out with an idead maybe this problem happened because what the bugs do is its switched the wifi connectivity to 3G connectivity bcs i have both my 3G data and WiFi On at the same time. So i came up with this idea again i tried to turned off the Cellular Data and activate the WiFi. I didnt go with Airplane Mode bcs it will be a trouble if someone text messaging or phone me
now it's been 5 hours i am in the house and i didnt encounter any wifi disconnection for this 5 hours , usually i can only use wifi for about 15 minutes to 20 minutes only while browsing and have to keep turning the wifi On and Off (restart).
So far turning Off the Cellular Data help. but of course it will be troublesome because when i am out from the house i have to always remember to turning on the celluar data again
but it worth a try guys until Apple fix this problem. I read that they will launch ios 8.1 soon this month.

Oct 3, 2014 11:18 AM in response to qaeleeby bayuindarta,Yeah finally it's work perfectly! Turning off cellular data when on wifi is the best solution this moment
-
Oct 3, 2014 11:48 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby Shibutai,Yeah, i tried to turn on airplane mode or turned off the mobile data and my wifi simply works!
but sometimes its getting slow but I never experienced any wifi getting turned off. This is the best temporary solution I could get.
Hope others could try it.
Still, waiting for Apple to fix this problem, not their own customers.

Oct 3, 2014 4:12 PM in response to qaeleeby abdurrahimfrom Malawi,You are genious man. Well caught. Thank you. Its finally started working some how. but apple should come up with permanent solution.

Oct 3, 2014 10:53 PM in response to Jeep4Lifeby Adam.Nielson,my friend has had terrible wifi issues for 2 days. Dropped connection and slow speeds. In desperation we turned off iCloud Keychain ( which now saves wifi data) and it has been rock solid ever since. Might be worth a try

Oct 4, 2014 10:19 AM in response to Adam.Nielsonby tee_it_up,Awesome, working for me. Turning off iCloud Keychain backup immediately reconnected the WiFi. Hopefully it sticks and apple fixes this issue permanently.
