Oct 19, 2014 10:45 AM in response to txemicallby Kevin Delgadillo1,I was having WiFi drops with 8.0.2 on iPhone 6 but found a solution with my Airport Extreme.
I created a separate 5GHz WiFi network and find I have zero dropping when I use that.
My iPhone 6 still periodically drops from the 2.4GHz WiFi (requiring an iPhone reboot to reconnect), but I don't see this happen when connected to the 5GHz WiFi network.

Oct 20, 2014 12:54 PM in response to Jeep4Lifeby TheZediKnight,Has anyone tried updating to 8.1 yet? Has it fixed the WiFi problems? After getting burned with 8.01, I'm a little chicken to try it just yet...

Oct 20, 2014 3:15 PM in response to Eddz789by getstu,Hello, First try going to Settings/Wifi and forget any networks then Goto Settings/General/Reset/Reset All Settings then go back to Wifi and choose your network and enter password. 8.1 seems very solid so far, no more 2.5mhz guest network and constant crashes & restarts for now. Best, Stu

Oct 20, 2014 4:12 PM in response to Jeep4Lifeby MyCryptic,Have updated fine on iPhone 6 from iOS 8.0.2. Just got the phone less than a week ago, and ever since I brought it home, the wifi has been dropping (network itself dropping, which causes every other device connected to also lose connection) everytime I used it; more often when playing medias (streaming videos and music). If left on standby, the wifi is totally fine. What's weird is if I use it with other networks outside my home router, it appears to work fine, but I haven't really used it long enough on those networks to totally notice any disconnections. Confused if it's the software, hardware, or even my router's problem (I also updated my router to the latest firmwares, etc.).
Just to add to note I've tried almost every possible reset from network resetting, hard factory reset, reboots of both router and iPhone, updating firmware on router and iPhone and nothing works. It is connected to a 5 year old D-link DIR-655 router (2.4 Ghz) with the latest firmware. I have resorted to just leaving my wifi off when at home... This is frustrating.

Oct 20, 2014 4:03 PM in response to amberaulby GugasOliv,Have you try restoring the network settings?
-
Oct 20, 2014 5:04 PM in response to GugasOlivby gks7,Hey, GugasOliv, this thing is 30 pages long because all those "tips" on wifi connectivity DO NOT WORK.
i went through 6 different 'helps' including factory restore and NOTHING worked.
I will NOT download 8.1 until I get confirmation from someone [OBVIOUSLY other than APPLE, since they aren't even acknowledging a problem exists] that 8.1 doesn't create even larger issues than the 8.0.2 caused.
A service rep w/ Apple said that he would delay updates until all the bugs are worked out.
WHO KNOWS when that will be......................

Oct 20, 2014 5:23 PM in response to gks7by TheZediKnight,I decided to jump in and upgrade to 8.1. It couldn't get any worse, right?
Well, my WiFi actually seems slower than before on 8.02. Ugh. I've tried restarting, turning airplaine mode on/off, forgetting networks and resetting all network settings, but like before, it's not helping. As of right now based on my current experience, I'm not sure I'd recommend 8.1. :-(
What has me a little puzzled is how much faster Chrome is vs. Safari. My native Mail app is also verrry slow. I'm wondering if there is some native app integration problem going on. But lol I'm not a developer, so who knows what the issue is. Our older iDevices on 7.1.2 are still performing just fine, so I hesitate to be messing with our routers too much. Guess I'll just keep playing with my iPad settings until hopefully something helps or Apple comes out with a fix...

Oct 20, 2014 7:23 PM in response to Jeep4Lifeby Fernando T,I've been using the 8.1 on a iPhone 5S and I've have only 2 episodes of wifi disconnecting... I remember that 8.0.2 I have had in a day almost kind of 15 times... So it's better now, but not even close to the 7.1.2 that I do not have any episodes at all. I think maybe is the randomise MAC address 'feature' in iOS8... is the only new thing that they changed about wifi...
