Q: Why does iOS 8.0.2 not resolve the issue of WiFi connectivity with iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6?

My iPhone 6 is still randomly disconnecting from my home WiFi, even after the latest OS update.  My spouse also has an iPhone 6 and has experienced no issues with WiFi connectivity.  When I spoke with Apple earlier in the week, I was told that they were aware of this issue with iOS 8 and would be working on a solution that should be released in 24 hours.  I have a $700+ phone that doesn't stay connected to WiFi.  Ridiculous.  Apple really needs to get it together.  This is the worst OS release yet.

Hi Kelly, forgive my lack of technology, I think you're asking if there are other i devices? If so, the answer is yes, imac, ipad, and iphone(s).

On a side note ... After speaking to the router company last night (who offered some suggestions) with issues still happening, more frequently in fact, I decided to reset settings today, and so far (fingers crossed) it has not dropped WiFi and its been a few hours

I appreciate you following up on the question!

That is great news about the router settings. I hope you'll follow up again to let us know how it continues to fair.

AAfter having this issue for 3 months, I finally have the answer. I took my 6+ to the Genius Bar tonight. They stated that you need at WPA 2 router. I changed routers, to one that uses WPA2. issue resolved. It ***** that that's the solution, but I figired I'd post because this issue was frustrating, and cost me loads in data overages. Good luck!

Oh, great!!! Now the damage is going to be even more expensive! Not only am i spending lots of money in data, but now if i drop my phone it will burst into pieces!!! hahaha, ridiculous, so iphone 3. It's been years, one would say they have fixed all the possible antenna issues.

There is one solution which Is by Emptying your battery. Then charge to 100% without touching the iPhone or connecting it to wifi! Then after battery is 100% open iPhone and connect it to wifi! So the issue will be solved! I v tried this fix and seemed to work from yesterday to Today wifi has never disconnected again! Hope this issue to be fixed on your Device!

The fact you haven't had a wifi problem after draining and recharging your battery is coincidence. Draining and recharging the battery would have no effect on WiFi.

I Know there is no relation between emptying battery and wifi. but after i tried that my wifi won't disconnect again. Try it!!

It's merely coincidence. And I have no reason to try it as I don't have any problems with my WiFi.

I, too, have this problem and it is really p...... me off.  I would love to upgrade to 9.0.2, but I can't because my iPhone 6 plus will not connect to internet.  So much money;  so little service!
