Sep 27, 2014 11:23 PM in response to Jeep4Lifeby tigerbones,Update 3: Possible solution
I noticed that under my icloud backups it showed both a backup of my old 4s (that i restored from to my new 6) and it showed a backup of my new 6. Both backups were around the same size. I deleted both. (i saved a local one in itunes just in case). This turned off 'backups' under the icloud menu.
After doing this, I forced my phone to 3g by turning off my router. Turned the router back on and the networks showed up in a few seconds. I even renamed my networks from my router so the phone would have to rediscover them... it did, in seconds. I walked down the street to force my phone to 3g and came back... it joined my network right away when I got back in distance.
So then i hooked up my old router. Within 2 seconds my phone saw it and remembered the name and password.
None of these things would work before I deleted those backups. The phone would just spin and not find any networks or take 3-4 minutes and maybe randomly find them.
The wifi signal is still kind of weak with the old router if I'm a few rooms away. The new nighthawk ac/5gz router is far superior/is full strength rooms away. (but this was never really my issue)
This is the first thing that has solved the problem of the phone being lazy/slow to pick up/remember networks.
Anyone that has had this problem... check your icloud backups and let us know if you had 2 and if there is any change by deleting them. Tomorrow I'm going to turn icloud backups back on to see if things maintain.

Sep 28, 2014 3:22 AM in response to Watzgoinby Crimsom,I find it unbelievable that Apple screwed up something this basic (WiFi connectivity).
Extremely bad WiFi on my ip5s and ipad mini after updating to iOS 8.
8.0.2 did nothing to solve the problem. This is highly frustrating and a fix must be released within the next week.

Sep 28, 2014 3:43 AM in response to ihawkby the.kib,i deactivated location services completely and wifi works now fine (speed is fine, no wifi drops anymore). Only disabling GPS for Wifi didn't help, only full disabling of location services/GPS.
Seems there is something interfering with wifi and location collection, not sure what it is.

Sep 28, 2014 5:06 AM in response to the.kibby yslimi,Update: disabled location service, icloud backup and anything that i can disable except leaving wifi on , unfortunately that Didn't solve any of the wifi issue. Wanted to roll back to 7 but i didnt have the latest backup because i updated my ios on the air. Need Apple to address this issue right away. Resetting phone or using airplane mode on and off is the only way to get it working but the problem will come back after a while

Sep 28, 2014 7:12 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby nik_qc,For me it looks like the update has introduced a new problem. At some point my iPhone 6 has lost the internet connetivity. No apps were able to connect anywhere yet WiFi signal was strong and the connection information did appear ok. Disabling-enabling WiFi caused the device to reconnect, everything started working again right after it, I have got a bunch of emails etc.
Before (with iOS 8.0.0) I had problem with reconnecting to home wifi network after leaving the office one. It was either taking very long (more than 5 minutes) to automatically connect or it was not able to connect at all. But that time only restarting the phone could help.

Sep 28, 2014 7:16 AM in response to Billabong12789by Hoep,Holy Moly, it is fixed by enabling WMM (Wi-Fi multimedia), which is under QoS settings, on my Netgear R7000 router. Thanks so much for this tip!

Sep 28, 2014 7:18 AM in response to ihawkby ActIII,At this point, I would be happy if they would acknowledge that there is an issue and let customers know that they are working on it. A simple list of known bugs with the software that are being addressed would be courteous.

Sep 28, 2014 8:00 AM in response to Jeep4Lifeby Anthony Curcione,Hey guys... there's no way this is a router issue. This is plain and simple a problem with the software and/or iPhone 6 hardware or a combination. If the phone all of a sudden can't find any networks while every other device in your house are connected and seeing them just fine, it isn't a router issue!
Also, my speeds when the phone is connected are totally fine. It's just that from time to time the phone just can't find any networks.

Sep 28, 2014 8:11 AM in response to ActIIIby Shibutai,True, we need some kind of "feedback" from Apple that they are working for this problem. Its already about 2 weeks with wifi problem on my iPhone. I did everything about reset network settings, DNS, etc. Nothing fix.

Sep 28, 2014 8:11 AM in response to Anthony Curcioneby mdesignffm,hi,
i own an iphone 5s and an ipad mini retina. since i travel a lot, i frequently run into connectivity problems on wifi networks in hotels.
- the iphone has way more problems than the ipad due to its shorter antenna. this also may be the case with the 6 compared to other devices in the house.
- many problems occur when different networks operating on the same wifi channel (which unfortunately quite often is the case nowadays). check channels with some software tool (like istumbler), switch channels on your router if possible. this is very much an apple issue, also on my macbook pro. windows laptops connect better in this situation of interfering networks. in such a scenario, strength of signal very much decides on connecting or not: what works in one room may not work in the adjacent room on similar devices.
this being said, there still may be an issue with the iphone 6. but maybe some people may find this helpful, too.
