iOS 8.0.2 slow WiFi

Not sure how savvy you are but you may try setting a static IP address. You can do this in your settings>wifi select the your connection then "i' button. Also make sure your router is setup for WPA2/AES. Actually check your router first before setting static IP, WPA2/AES should always be selected for best security and speed.

Well sorta but nothing you can do there. WPA2/AES will most always be faster but public hotspots typically are open networks. My iP6 seems to have faster upload than download. I am on a 30/30 connection and the results are all over the place but typically 20-23 down and 25-29 up is what I have been seeing. My 4s I had was about the same. (which is strange, II would think iP6 would be faster) Since 8.0.2 I been hitting about the same 18/28 or 24/26.

Perhaps more updates on the way. Remember they changed the wifi chip to support 802.11ac so driver optimization may still be in the works.

Noticed slow wifi performance after updating to 8.0.2. Particularly on my iPad Air, resetting network settings on the iPad works temporarily. But I have now had to reset my airport timecapsule on a couple of occasions to get back to normal download speeds.

I want to share that my wifi is now working fine for the first time since I have iPhone 6. I am using iOS 8.02. At first I had a very slow wifi connection, most of the time I couldn't access the internet.

After trying many suggestions, like turning off Wifi network in privacy setting, reset network, setting DNS to 8.8.8.8, etc, I decided to reset my iPhone all together. BUT I SAW "RESET ALL SETTINGS". I gave it a try and voila, it works! It's been 12 hours my iPhone 6 is working fine.

I hope this works for everybody. Try it.

using iPad Air -- something is wrong because safari loads faster using the cellular connection rather than the wifi connection. I already disabled the wifi networking setting, renewed lease, etc.

Just activated a new iPhone 6 and upgraded to iOS 8.0.2. WiFi performance on my home network is poor to the point of being unusable. Other Apple products in the home (iPhone 4/iOS 6.1.3, iPhone 4S/iOS 7.1.2, iPhone 5S/iOS 8.0.2) perform just fine.

I'm having the same problem. (iPhone 6 running 8.0.2) If I reset network settings my download rate returns to 12-15 mbps, but when I leave the house and drop connection to my router, upon returning I get something like 0.3 mbps.

On a side note, I have an 4G AT&T MCELL on my network due to poor cellular reception in my area. If I turn off wifi and just run on 4G on the MCELL, I get 6-7 mbps. This is still running from the MCELL through my router, so the pipeline through the router seems to be fine.

Try turning off iCloud Keychain.

Had a support appointment at the local Apple store today. Turns out my new iPhone 6 has a problem/defect with the WiFi radio. Boxed it up and sent it back to my wireless carrier for exchange.

my reccomenion dation to turn off keychain is based on a friend's experience. He had the Genius Bar replace the phone twice in the same day, and the problem persisted. it was not until he turned off his KeyChainbin iCloud that the issue corrected itself. its been 3 days with not one problem. If your new device exhibits the same behavior keep this fix in mind

It doesn't work for long. 36 hours later the problem reappears, APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS WIFI ISSUES IMMEDIATEL!!

This exact issue is cropping up in many, many posts and threads.

All our Apple devices have slowed down since adopting IOS8 etc. Any change in settings, browser etc, or restarting allows only a temporary resumption of reasonable speed.

Apple TV use has ceased.

No word on a fix, or even admission that there is even a problem. Customer confidence and loyalty, and technical credibility are a **** site easier to lose than to gain, and Apple clearly is haemorrhaging all three.

APPLE FAIL.
