IIbooks is not showing up in the 'open in' menu for any of the PDF file I opened in Dropbox. I have ipad with wi-fi and Bluetooth with iOS ver 7.1.2.

Have you swiped completely through the icons to find it? There is no other settings that I am aware of that would restrict that. Have you recently updated dropbox? If you have, and you are still running iOS 7.1.12 as your tags states, that could have something to do with it (shouldn't, but could).
You could also try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
there is only one icon of Documents.me there and nothing happened even when I swiped. So as suggested by you. I updated Dropbox and still the problem remains. Pls help. Thanks in advance.
I Also did the reset as suggested by you but still it has not solved the problem.

No idea what "documetns.me" is. Have you tried the reset?

DOcuments.me is a software similar to Dropbox and I pasted below a screen shot for your information.

Actually a screen shot of what you see in Dropbox would be far more helpful.
screen shots pasted below, as you can see, only Documents.me icon is appearing and ibooks icon is not appearing even after swiping.

deleted Dropbox and reinstalled it, but it did not help. Shall try the other options as suggested by you later and shall revert back if any of them solve this problem.

I realize this you probably got this figured out already. But in case it helps anybody else, here's what did it for me.
In the screenshot you sent, in the second line of options, right after 'copy link' and 'print', you can see the suspension points 'open in' icon. When I select it, then it shows me Ibooks.
That is primarily because DropBox updated the app and fixed it since this thread was active a year ago.
