Ibooks is not showing up in 'open in' menu on dropbox

IIbooks is not showing up in the 'open in' menu for any of the PDF file I opened in Dropbox. I have ipad with wi-fi and Bluetooth with iOS ver 7.1.2.

please help

Have you swiped completely through the icons to find it? There is no other settings that I am aware of that would restrict that. Have you recently updated dropbox? If you have, and you are still running iOS 7.1.12 as your tags states, that could have something to do with it (shouldn't, but could).


You could also try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

If you have tried the reset, the only things I can recommend are:

  • Delete and reinstall DropBox
  • Delete and reinstall iBooks (if you are still on 7.1.2. If you have updated to 8.0.2, iBooks is now built in. Do not forget to back up any PDFs yo already have in it).
  • Both of the above
  • Update to 8.0.2
  • Restore as a new device (which will result in 8.0.2 being installed, BTW.
