Dec 12, 2015 6:11 PM in response to Look@menowby chil1234,In response to the original post, a credit card is needed to create the family sharing account. All the purchases are linked to that card but you could in theory set up "ask to buy" for everyone listed not a spouse or parent on the account. Then the cardholder(s) would get notifications that would either be able to approve or decline purchases made on their card. I have it set up for my family and it works great. Even free apps my kids want to download come thru as a request to me.

May 7, 2016 8:20 AM in response to Look@menowby Alemacuser,Dear Apple... it's not right to trick people into putting their credit card information. I can understand you need to verify that I am an adult when creating a child's apple id. But it said clearly that I could change back the payment method after. Now that I have family sharing it doesn't let me remove the credit card. This is annoying and stupid. I was perfectly fine before using iTunes store credit.

May 7, 2016 10:41 AM in response to Alemacuserby KiltedTim,You are NOT talking to Apple. Apple didn't have a choice in the matter. It's an issue of law, not Apple policy. You can easily remove the credit card. In order to do so, you MUST provide another valid payment method.
