Q: iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

I have been following this post for a few days as my phone would not connect to any car also. I thought that I would wait for the apple solution or get my phone replaced but then decided to have a go at fixing beforehand.

Firstly, I reset network settings but that didn't work. I then backed up my phone to icloud and my iMac. Next I restored the phone via iTunes and set it up as new.  before restoring any apps I tested the phone and found it to work on bluetooth with my car for the first time. I then restored my phone from the icloud backup and retested and it still works.

My guess is that perhaps there is something in base software on some iphone 6's on ios 8 phones (or just ios8) which is corrupt and it can only be replaced with a full download of the software via a computer and not by erasing and restoring on the phone alone.

Hope this helps someone else like me.

Note: I am using an iphone 6 128gb which I originally installed as a new phone using the phone alone and not iTunes.

Out of curiousity: Those of you who had problems with bluetooth making/accepting calls and used the reset/restore/etc method to make it finally work....Have any of you tried to reboot your phone and see if bluetooth still works in your car?

My car will pair with the Bluetooth, but can't make or receive calls. The stereo doesn't mute on outgoing, but will mute on incoming and ring through the speakers....however the steering wheel answer button doesn't work.  Answering the phone on the handset still thinks it is going through the bluetooth, but I still hear stereo, so I have to send sound to the handset to answer.  When making calls, again the steering wheel doesn't call, so I have to call from the phone, but while the call is made to who I want, I never hear them and the only way to hear is to send it back to my phone.

Oddly enough, Siri works fine for asking questions and dictation of text messages through the car Bluetooth, just not phone calls.

I had an iPhone 5 and even after updating to ios8 it worked fine in the car, but that was shortly before getting the iPhone 6, so I can't say it still works on the 5.

I never did a restore on my iPhone 6 as every attempt said the backup was corrupt, so I reinstalled all apps from scratch and setup everything from scratch. I have also since then reset all settings including network settings twice, turned off LTE voice, and disabled address book transfer....and it _still_ doesn't work.

Mine was exactly the same but I didn't try Siri.

iPhone 4s iOS 8.0.2. Bluetooth is having drop out issues in my 2013 Kia Sorento LX. I've tried deleting my phone and reconnecting it to my vehicle. I've also tried reseting my iPhone's network settings and such. My bluetooth especially seems to drop out when I receive a call, then I have to reach for the phone and try to toggle the audio source, which I think eventually works. This is definitely an issue and hope the next update fixes this.

Same issues as everyone in here.  2011 F150 and 2012 Focus, Iphone 6 on IOS 8 everything worked fine, since upgrade to 8.0.2 phone fails every time, audo is fine but phone not at all. This REALLY irritates me, why the F*** would one work and one not work, and why can we not return to IOS8 the working version.  Better get a fix ASAP or ill have to switch from the iphone.  .  Affecting Millions with zero acknowledgment, at least let us know its being worked on.

Fixed my bluetooth issue with a downgrade to 8.0, I needed to get my Polar H7 Bluetooth heart rate operational for the weekend races.  Fortunately, I found the requisite image online and was able to restore my iPhone 6 with 8.02 to 8.00 and it has been working relatively well, as my main gripe was the loss of Bluetooth, for an absolutely necessary feature for me, Bluetooth support for the Polar H7 heart rate belt.  Every article I read was nonsense, regarding wiping out network settings, and/or the iPhone and reloading all settings.  Restoring to 8.0 was flawless and quick, and retained all my settings.  I am waiting for the next update to eliminate this bug before daring to upgrade.

    Thanks,

    John

This problem too on Mitsubishi Outlander 2013.  Pairs OK and can play audio via Bluetooth but when a call comes in or out won't use the in car audio and reverts to phone necessitating a manual switch over.  iOS 7.x was fine.

Hello. I got new Toyota Auris and I am experiencing similar/same issues as described in this thread.

iPhone pairs with car properly, however when I am trying to make a call, it drops call to iPhone and I cannot hear a thing, nor does person on the "called end".

Incoming calls do not work either (I am not able to accept incoming calls either using touch screen nor on steering wheel controls, nothing works).

Playing music over BT works fine.

I am using iPhone5 with iOS 8.0.2. Older "company" HTC One X with droid 4.2.2 works all fine.

After deleting paired devices from both, car and iPhone, and trying to pair again, after pairing it starts on its own calls last called number from iPhone.

The only way to get rid of this "autodial" is deleting pairing on both car and iPhone and then reboot iPhone.

However it does not fix calls via BT and its at the same state as described above.

I tried deleting network settings and restoring iPhone etc.. as advised by few posters here, but it does not fix BT calls issue at all.

From what I did read in here it seems like this issue is somewhat related to iOS8 upgrade, but it seems it is also car specific (to some extent).

My brother has iPhone4S with latest iOS8.0.2 and it does works all fine with BT handsfree funcionality in his VW Golf Variant (latest 2013 model).

Audi Q5 2014 Same Problems. Everytime it connects to the car`s audio system, it says it`s dialing out to the last dialed no. But it actually doesnt on the phone. Cant play music because it thinks i`m on a call. When i try to connect after i`m already on a call, the person on the other side cant hear anything. We need a fix ASAP.

I have a 2013 VW passat TDI SEL.   Had trouble with my iphone6 connecting.   VW couldn't find the phone in search mode.

I called apple support and they advised a general > reset > Reset network settings   as something to try.     This seems to have fixed the problem as the phone was found by the car  in the search step after doing this.

Certainly an issue with the apple upgrade as I never had this problem before with other OS updates.  Glad the network reset worked for me.  Hope it works for others too!

BTW, i did upgrade to 8.02 as well.

I am having the same trouble since updating to  IOS 8.02.  I have a 2012 VW Jetta TDI and loved the Bluetooth feature until last week.  As soon as the Bluetooth "connected" I had ghost calls and couldn't turn them off until I turned off the Bluetooth from my iPhone 5.  I am unable to listen to podcasts or anything with this new operating system. We have a hand-free law in my Oregon and I need that feature.  Speakerphone doesn't work as well. I almost brought the car in for service until I found this thread.   I am a bit nervous about doing the Reset Network Settings.  Will I lose anything off my phone or have to set up the phone as new again?  It's such a colossal pain in the rear and I don't want to spend too much time on it when it isn't my fault.  Anyone here if Apple is going to do anything about it.  From what I read it sounds like they are telling consumers to spend hours re-setting their phones.  I don't have hours to spend.

2008 BMW M3 workEd fine with iPhone 5s 7.1.2, upgrade to 8.0.2 and now I can't call out and link to car audio.  Apple has to look into these issues.  I have an iPhone 6 plus on the way.  I'll be returning it the same day it arrives if this isn't resolved.
