Q: iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

    Same issue for me.

    Phone: iphone 6

    Carrier: Verizon

    IOS 8.2

Car: Ford Explorer 2013 (lastest version of sync)

    Symptoms:

Can connect via bluetooth but phone calls do not stay connected via bluetooth or my car thinks I am on a conference call when I first connect via bluetooth when I get in the car (causing the radio not to work).

Hands free calling is also broken for me.

    Phone: iPhone 6

    Carrier: Verizon

    IOS 8.0.2

    Vehicler: 2014 Infiniti G37

    Symptoms:

Bluetooth pairing succeeds, but hands-free calling is broken. Infiniti firmware reports "Unable to switch into Handset mode".

Bluetooth/hands free was working and now it's not. iPhone 6 connects and pairs with 2009 Chevy Suburban but there is no audio/voice. Hands free steering wheel buttons still work. This is ridiculous. FIX THIS NOW APPLE!

It appears that Bluetooth core is functional, but the hands-free profile (HFP) implementation is broken.

I have this issue too with an iphone5 in a mazda5.

phone keeps defaulting to iPhone instead of BT Audio which is so unsafe when driving!

Can reselect BT repeatedly and it keeps reverting to phone, while the same call is dialing and trying to connect.

One of these days Apple!  To lose the use of bluetooth in my car is to say the least annoying. To lose it for three weeks? That's unacceptable. I remember a time when Apple was cool. Now I'm not so sure. Shame on you.

To let everyone know my own experience, I got on the phone with handsfreelink.com's tech supoprt and spent a good 30 minutes eithe ron hold or re-telling my symptoms (which are similar to everyone else's here). Finally got someone who had knowledge of this thread of discussion as well as others, who told me it's OS related. he said a few people within tech support had had success by pairing the device running iOS8.0 or later, then as it is paired, hit the hard reset as others have described here.

Since the Bluetooth problems is beyond Iphone 6 hardware and is affecting previous Iphone models then hopefully it isn't an Iphone hardware problem and is confined to software bugs.

The lack of Bluetooth connectivity isn't a minor bug> IT IS A MAJOR defect which by denying hands free telephone access while driving may lead into auto accidents and tickets for using a cell phone while driving. Trust we will see collateral consequences flooding the courts.

Looking through Internet articles there is rumor Apple has an update (8.1) that will correct the Bluetooth problem.  If Apple management wants to get all the other bugs out before releasing to avoid further embarrassment they should worry less about egg on their face and get their customers driving safely hands free. Attorneys stop salivating.  Apple be smart.

YES, I have the same exact problem, my iPhone 5 does not connect with my car's Bluetooth since IOS 8.0.2       Nothing works to fix the problem.    Hyundai has no software update.    It's Apple's new iOS update that is the problem, very annoying.      Worked perfectly before.

I have the same problem with my 4S connecting to my 2012 Hyundai Sonata . I am able to build a contact list and access the list. But when the phone tries to connect, it loses the connection. Sometimes it will switch the connection to the phone without Bluetooth. It has also disconnected then magically reconnected with the call you are making.

As someone else mentioned, this is a safety issue first and foremost. I am surprised that Apple has not released an update yet. Ask GM what happens when your faulty equipment causes accidents.

So annoying. One buys a brand new phone with the idiotic belief that what was working before should surely work now as well. My new iPhone6 and my car cannot find each other over bluetooth at all. And the 8.0.2 is no fix to this. Shame on Apple for creating such a mess for their consumers!
