Q: iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

Hi guys... here is a solution from Applecare that DID work for me.  I have an iPhone 6 running IOS 8.0.2.

If you can’t connect to a hands-free Bluetooth accessory, can’t make or receive calls when you’re connected to Bluetooth, or can’t hear sound clearly when you’re on a call using Bluetooth, these steps can help.

To resolve the issue, you'll need to first sign in to iCloud and review your devices:

    1. Sign in to iCloud on your iOS devices and Macs with OS X Yosemite (available this fall).
    2. On one of your devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth and look under My Devices. You'll see all devices that are connected to Bluetooth, but make sure that you see your Apple devices that are signed in to iCloud and are using iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite.
    3. Sign out of your iCloud account from any devices that you don't want to use. To sign out of iCloud on an iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Then, remove any inactive devices from iCloud:
    1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
    2. Select Find My iPhone.
    3. Select any devices that aren't active anymore.
    4. Wait for Find My iPhone to stop trying to find the inactive device.
    5. You should see the option to remove this device from your account. Select it to remove the device.

After following the steps above, restart the device with the issue. Then try to use it with your Bluetooth accessory.

I did this experiment almost 2 weeks ago and it DID restore full functionality to my BT devices in my car.  As a second phase of the experiment I REINSTALLED iCloud on my iPad, and sure enough, BT broke completely everywhere... no headset, no BT speakers, no BT in the car, nothing.  I deinstalled iCloud again, and magically everything worked.  For now I am doing periodic local backups on my iPad, and I'm fuming every time my keychain doesn't work.  But full BT functionality is available for all devices using my iPhone 6/IOS 8.0.2 at all times.

I have a 2010 Mazda 3, and I had great reliability with my iphone 5S until the recent upgrade to 8.0.2. Now I can play music through the radio but it won't work with the phone. I am truly disappointed as a loyal Apple fan!!!

THis has been driving me mad, ios 8.02, iPhone 5c, vw. I've now managed to fix it - 2 days of it working, so far. Very sinple and does not need a rename and all that. Delete br profile for your car in your phone. In your car, go into the settings menu, restore to factory, then reconnect & pair. Works as it used to now. I think part of the issue is the profile of the player in the vw/audi set up. It may work for other cars. Took about 2 mins, all I had to do was deselect my preference on doors locking, mirrors etc. hope it helps

Same problem: iPhone 4s with updated IOS 8.02. It worked fine on my Toyota Avalon until I updated the phone. Apple's problem, sorry. How else to explain NO problems with anything, then all sorts of problems after 8.02?

I Did this about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine, even if I switched my phone off then back on again   BUT I decided to see what would happen if I let my battery die on my phone.......the outcome was that it no longer worked   So until Apple fix the bug make sure you don't let your phones battery die or it will stop working.

WWhat kind of crazy crap is that???  I remember the icloud stuff with the iOS Apps (Pages, etc) and documents going haywire because there was some phantom folder in icloud causing the problems, but Bluetooth profiles being conflicted because of a profile in iCloud on a device that may not even be in the vicinity of the BT device???  That doesn't make logical sense, but I will give it a try...

I Seemed to have fixed mine for the time being. Don't know how long it's going to last though!

Settings > General Settings > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Do not forget to erase the pair from your vehicle and add it again.

Though, this may delete all the wifi connections that you had stored, just add them again.

    This worked for me!

I have a iPhone 6 plus (128 gb) and a 2014 GMC Sierra and I have a Bluetooth issue. My phone says it's connected to intellilink and my intellilink will say its connected to my phone. I can make a call but then there is no audio. I have been on the phone with GMC Intellinlink and they are saying it is an Apple issue and that Apple is aware of it and "suppose" to be coming up with a fix. I hope they hurry as I travel a lot with my job and don't like the fact that I can't talk on my truck.

    Bugs are bugs...

Try signing our of iCloud and then resetting your network settings. Connect via bluetooth and see if it works... then sign back into iCloud After your connected.

Apple Also released this article fairly recently which is related to what I have tried and had work.
