Q: iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

I have the same problem with an Apple 6 and in MKZ 2015 hybrid.  The original iOS eight version worked fine but after upgrading to 8.0.2 Saturday the Bluetooth cuts off almost immediately. I'm in the middle of restoring the phone. Very frustrating.

iOS 8.0.2 Bluetooth fails in Chrysler.  Connects iphone 5 to car, (bug of iOS 8.0.1 fixed, yeah), but phone functions do not connect.  Apple needs better testing. I hate ios 8. Will not buy MacAir with seeing this poor performance delivery from Apple. Following Microsoft's methods is pitiful.  We are told it is very dangerous not having Bluetooth in cars.  Lawsuits possible.

You can easily have them waive the fee if you are returning a faulty product as that is not just you changing your mind. Go in and don't leave until they agree to take it back without a restocking fee. Check out your rights under the consumer protection rights set forth by the federal government of the U.S.

IOS 8.02 still no 2 way audio on phone calls. dials connects but audio from call will not come through car sound system. Person on the call can hear me but I cant hear them unless I switch away to local speaker mode. My issue is with 2014 BMW X-3. I have tried the setting s reset but no joy. Can't believe something this bad came out of Apple. I have never had early adopter paranoia with Apple. This kind of unproven updates will shake that faith.

i have had the same problem.  What i did and seemed to work was go to settings and click erase all settings.  it does nothing to data or media and it seemed to do the trick in my lexus.  I would give this a try.

Same here.  Using IOS 8.0 on my old iPhone 5, Bluetooth in my Mini Cooper S worked perfectly on 22Sep14.  I transitioned to my new iPhone 6 on Tuesday, and Bluetooth worked fine until I upgraded to 8.0.2 on Thursday night.  That was it.  Seems to work fine on simple devices like speakers (eg Bose Soudlink Mini), and my Bose BT headset partly works (the call button does NOT work any more).  But no amount of deleting profiles, renaming phone, or resetting has fixed the problem.  I have yet to completely restore the phone, and apparently even that drastic step doesn't uniformly work.  I talked to an Apple Sr Support representative on Saturday, and he admitted that he had already started hearing about this.  Although he too suggested I contact Mini to see if there was a firmware update for the car, he suggested it sheepishly.  Clearly Apple cannot expect every possible auto manufacturer to push new firmware just to accommodate a buggy iPhone!  FYI, I found the following list affected car makes over at autoconnectedcar.com:   Mercedes Vito, Renault Clio, Ford Focus , different Ford models,  2014 Mazda 3, 2011 BMW 520D, Jeep, Kia, Volkswagen 2011 CC, Subaru Legacy 2014, Acura Tsx 2010, Subaru Outback, Dodge Charger, Cobalt (Chevrolet) 2012,  Honda Civic 2014, Honda Pilot, Audi A1/A3/A6, Chevy Equinox, Toyota Pirus C, Mercedes-Benz, MINI Cooper, BMW, Lincoln MKX, 2012 Acura TSX, Chevy Cruze, Ford Explorer,  Hyundai Elantra and Kia.

I have two Mercedes Benz and two iPhone 6, both of which paired perfectly with the new phone on iOS 8 and kept right on connecting with iOS 8.0.2.  I don't have a clue why I'm not experiencing any issues, but I'm not.

My previous post where I fixed it turns out it was a different problem than most here. While my BT headset is now working fine, I had not yet tried my car at that time but since have and I too am having problems like everyone else now.

Regarding the "reset all settings" that sounds like it works but is a bit drastic and annoying to have to set all that stuff again.

I found an older thread about other bluetooth problems and found the following which is a more limited reset. I won't be in my car for a while, someone want to give that a try?

    Settings

    General

    Reset

    Reset Network Settings

Then TURN OFF  Bluetooth ON YOUR iPHONE before starting car or Bluetooth device.  Then turn the Bluetooth back on (iPhone)

    PROBLEM FIXED:

I had the usual problem of cutoffs with bluetooth with my MKZ Hybrid 2015 after version 8.0.2.  Worked fine before the upgrade.

SUCCESSFUL FIX:  FIRST DID AN ICLOUD AND ITUNES BACKUP.  THEN DID A COMPLETE RESTORE ON ITUNES AND THEN SET UP AS A NEW PHONE.  AFTER THAT, I SYNCED WITH ITUNES ALL MY INFORMATION.  BACK IN BUSINESS FOR NOW.

After resetting and starting from scratch for few days now....and Apple lack of respect to its customer, I just few minutes ago got rid of one of my 5s and will probably go with another brand. I kept the one with least problems to do my work...if my wife has problems with hers (and she finds out) all our Apple products in the house and work will be gone...She had bad experience with the customer support for her new Mac.
