Q: iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

As of Sept. 30:  iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2:  Bluetooth will not work properly in Porsche, or Mercedes, or Mini Cooper.  iPhone 6 Bluetooth will not even connect via Bluetooth with our iMac or IPad.  The iMac Bluetooth recognizes the iPhone 6, but it will not "pair".  IMac message is that "The device (iPhone 6) is not compatible!"  This is my second iPhone 6.  Apple retail store ( Walnut Creek, CA) replaced my first iPhone 6 due to the non-functioning Bluetooth on that original device.  A comedy of errors by Apple.

My car will pair with the Bluetooth, but can't make or receive calls. The sterro doesn't mute on outgoing, but will mute on incoming....however the steering wheel answer button no longer works.

The phone says it is using the car Bluetooth and the people i call are getting dialed, but I can't hear them and they can't hear me.

Oddly enough, Siri works fine over in car Bluetooth, as well as text dictation.

I Had an iPhone 5 and even after updating to ios8 it worked, but that was shortly before getting the iPhone 6, so I can't say it still works on the 5.

IN any case, hands free Bluetooth calling does not work in my car and I have tried all the fixes people have posted To no avail.  Without Bluetooth, the phone is nearly useless for how much time I am in the car.

    Hi,

I have an iPhone 5S and after update to IOS 8 (and even with IOS 8.0.2) I also had issues with bluetooth connecting to my car as described by some users (it connects but then loose the calls), but I manage to fix it, as recommended on some website that I don't remember right now, I've just reset all settings on iPhone and now it works like a charm:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

I've done this on IOS 8 and after testing with my car and make a few calls and confirming that it's working without problems I've updated to IOS 8.0.2 again and it still works.

Hope this also works with you.

I have the same problem. The phone is connected with my car but he don't work...often the car's bluetooth automatically starts the last call made.

I tried to do the reset of network settings, hard reset of my iPhone and delete previous bluetooth pairing setting from both car and the iPhone...but he doesn't work.

Hi, same identical issue on iPhone 5 and my NISSAN QASHQAI: connectivity with the car hand free system is established and works fine for music but it does not work at all for both incoming and outgoing calls.

I called Apple in Norway and got a solution from them.

    What I did was:

    1. Connect the iPhone to iTunes ( computer).

    2. Restore and put up like a new device.Disconnect from iTunes

    3. When it was restored I took a new restore on the phone and set it up with my last backup in iCloud.

    4. When everything was in place I took a hard reset( home+on/off)

    5. Took a factory reset in my car, before connecting bluetooth on my iPhone.

This worked perfectly and I am smiling again.

    Big job but worth it.

Wow, no way I do something that long and complicated only to use my bluetooth. The reason I love Apple until then, is because we don't have to do this kind of crap with their products. It's Apple job to fix that, not mine. I hope they will fix it - and soon - for the next iOS update...

    Thanks anyway for the info...

These are all temporary fixes! Read my post from yesterday "Apple is aware of the iOS 8.0 bluetooth issues and is working on it!"

They are aware of it and will be putting a fix out.

Not sure if they blocked the post but I posted it yesterday with the actual chat comment from the Apple support rep. I am hoping they have something out by the weekend! I was this close to returning it for a Nokia 930 Windows phone! Oh the horror...

    Ok.

But I turned of the car and the iPhone and connected again and it was still working. Got someone to call and took a call out so I hope it will be working next time also.

Apple said that the different was that I took a complete reset in iTunes and not on the phone.

Well, I did have a support call with Apple for another reason, but we did also discuss bluetooth.  The following solution seems to be a recurring theme for many, and I tried the same thing.  Wiped phone, and set it up as a new device.  I think there might be issues for those who are setting up their new iPhone 6 from an icloud backup of their old device.  Yes it took me 2+ hours to get all my apps and data back, but I think the point is, you cannot restore from a previous device.  I know this is very UN-Apple.  My phone calls and music streaming are now working again in my 2013 Acura MDX, however, I still have the issue that once connected to the car, Siri seems to die.  I can't get her back without a reboot.  I hope that whatever they are working on solves all of these issues.
