Sep 26, 2014 2:46 PM in response to Heiko90265by léonie,Your screenshots do not show, sorry. The forum software has a problem.
Have you clicked the little padlock icon in the upper right corner of the "Change Storage Plan" window? Otherwise the buttons will not be active.

Sep 26, 2014 3:18 PM in response to Heiko90265by randers4,Try downgrading to the 20GB plan as shown in your second screenshot, tap Done, then go back and downgrade to the free plan.
(I can only see the screenshots by clicking on them.)

Sep 26, 2014 5:10 PM in response to randers4by Heiko90265,I have tried and indeed, it then let me select the 5GB option.
But then, after a minute, I have called it again to see if that change was stored correctly on Apple's backend. And again:
The old 25GB for a yearly was selected and the 5GB downgrade option not available.
Did it 3 times to see if that has any impact, but same result. -
Sep 26, 2014 5:17 PM in response to Heiko90265by randers4,I could be wrong but I believe that it will continue to show your current plan in settings until the end of your plan year. You might trying the Apple online store to see what their records show. They process storage refunds so I assume the could access that information. Their number should appear at the bottom of this page.

Apr 25, 2015 8:11 AM in response to Heiko90265by Grapple71,For the sake of other users with this problem (although I didn't have a yearly plan - it just seemed to be a rolling monthly payment) I'd like to confirm that it took a call to the support line to resolve this. The online support information simply tells you how to downgrade assuming that the done button is available to complete the downgrade so it's not at all helpful in resolving the issue for those experiencing the problem. The support agent resolved this at their end and I had to log out and in again to check that this had resulted in the required downgrade. The online support doesn't recognised the greyed out button as a common problem but I suspect it it. Also when I searched this forum for the problem 'icloud downgrade problems' it said there were no existing articles. This really makes it difficult for people to find the resoluton to their problem. My resolution was to get the support line to contact me. Hope this helps other users with the same problem.
