Q: Apple ID verification in iCloud malfunctioning?
Apple ID verification in iCloud is telling me my password is wrong, but it isn't, and I used the same password to log in here.
My iOS (iPhone 5 running iOS 8.0) froze. I restarted using the Home/Sleep-Wake method.
The device restarted, I entered my device's Passcode, then got a series of prompts requesting my Apple ID password. Nothing seemed to happen after that, but I thought I'd check my iCloud section as above to see if I could log in/confirm/verify.
Settings --> iCloud (I am both signed in and signed into a Family sharing) --> my account --> Enter Password
After taking several seconds while "Verifying", I am told my password is incorrect, when it isn't. I have tried more than once (and am afraid to try again).

Thank you. I found a less drastic solution, even if it required me to read between the lines. At this page: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html, the first step reads, "Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS." When I encountered my "Verifying" problem, iOS 8.0.2 had just been released.
So, what solved my problem was, I updated to iOS 8.0.2. After updating, the "Verifying" step completed, and I was able to access my iCloud account settings within the app.
I would prefer that Apple suggested that one reason I couldn't continue was that I needed to update, but other than that, I am OK with how things turned out.
