find wi-fi password in Key chain?

I don't remember my password for my home network: Cox cable standard router -to- Airport Extreme (late 2012). Connection to my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.5) is automatic, but can't connect with iPhone 4s, iPad, and visitor's iPhones and laptops. Somewhere computer said it was in "Library" and/or "Key Chain." Very new to Macs / OSX. I need help! Thanks, George

Open key chain access via spotlight , double clicked on base station name .

User uploaded file

User uploaded file

Checked the box of show password .

User uploaded file

Entered user name and password , clicked on ok .

Another window appeared , again entered the user name and password and clicked on allow .

User uploaded file

The password for your wireless network will be shown , in the end unchecked the box of show password , right clicked on the keychain access that was in the dock and clicked on quit .

If it still doesn't show go to user library , click on Go > Go to folder > and type ~/Library > find a folder preferences > drag and drop only the contents of first folder By Hosts to the desktop and in the same preferences folder drag and drop com.applekeychainaccess.plist to the desktop .

Restart the machine , open the application keychain access for few minutes again enter into the user library and verify the keychain plist is recreated.

Once , you are sure delete By Hosts contents and com.applekeychainaccess.plist from the desktop into the trash , restart and empty the trash .
