Q: iPad 2 with iOS 8.0.2 - still no service

Yesterday i updated my iPad 2 with iOS 8.0.2. Today the same bug: no service after a couple of hours. Its not a good user experience if you are on the way or in a meeting with a customer and you can't use internet because of no service.

Apple has released iOS 8 with support for the good old iPad 2, but seems not interested in fixing this bug. Its a shame. Over years i'am a satisfied customer of Apple products, but in last time i am not very satisfied. Apple has to confirm and to fix this bug. On my bug report in Apple Bug Reporter still no reaction.

I'm running the actual Beta of iOS 8.1 on my iPad 2 and for four days, i have cellular network. It looks like Apple has fixed this issue in iOS 8.1.

Since we are all complaining about the IPAD 2's, is this the "planned obsolesence" built into (or planted for us by upgrading to 8.02) by Tim Cook?

Please could you sort this out ASAP as I am still having ''NO SERVICE'' on my iPad 2 and i have all Apple 2 iPads, 3 iPhones , iMac and Macbook pro a loyal customer.
Also since the update the iPad mini and standard iPad runs slower.
Please fix ASAP. Thank you

Same with me: iPad2 updated from iOS 7 directly to iOS 8.0.2:
"no service" several times a day, have to reboot all the time.
carrier: vodafone (germany)

Apple, please care for us iPad2 users!!!

Apple sells refurbed ipad 2s. I am seriously considering buying one and updating it immediately to IOS 8.0.2. It will, of course, render it completely useless, at which point I will return it under the 90-day warranty for another one - etc. etc. etc.

Same disaster in Italy: NO SERVICE several times a day (Vodafone contract)! I don't understand why Apple is absolutely hiding about this problem!

This worked for me too.
Going to General and then iCloud and tapping on my name made the cellular on my iPad 2 connect immediately.
I Logged in as well but the cellular connection was re-connected before I logged in to my iCloud account.

Obviously iCloud and the cellular connection are somehow related.

FYI I'm in the USA in New England using AT&T.

Yes. Every one of us with the problem must submit an official Feedback report. Otherwise, like the bendy iPhone 6 issue Apple will say 'only 9 users reported the problem'.
