AirPort Extreme - Back to My Mac - unable to use iCloud account with two factor authentication?

I recently enabled two factor authentication for my iCloud account (using my iPhone for verification); however now when I attempt to authenticate as this account in the 'Back to My Mac' feature within my AirPort Extreme it fails stating "an error has occurred signing in". This is the same iCloud account that I use on my Macs within my network.

I entered the credentials of an alternate iCloud account without two factor authentication and it logged in successfully.

Does the AirPort Extreme not yet support the two factor authentication method yet for iCloud accounts?
