Bash 80X24 message

A message saying bash 80X24 has appeared on my screen. It has my last login time and then it goes on to say unknown-88-63-df-a7-77-13: and then a funny symbol I can't type followed by my name. Any idea what this is, why it has appeared and if it is a problem.

Could it be to do with the Shockwave virus I have heard about?

More info.

A more common look to the message includes the Computer Name like this:-

The ~ is a Tilde symbol and on English keyboard is the upper case character on the key next to the left hand Shift key.
