IPhone 5s doesn't ring after IOS 8.0.2 update? That is, after muting the phone at night, then unmuting it in the morning. It won't even show an incoming call.
It worked fine after the flawed 8.0.1 update.
However, now, if you go in and change the ring type - Then it WILL ring and answer calls? But before doing that, it won't even show an incoming call.

I had the same problem after upgrading my iPhone 7. It took me a few days to realize my phone wasn’t ringing. I kept fiddling with settings then I finally turned off my iPhone. Wait a minute and turn it back on. Thanks

I have a similar issue since the same update. I get incoming calls and messages fine but the phone doesn't ring to notify me. But if the bog standard iPhone headset is plugged in then it rings fine.
I have tried the go to sleep function, turn off and on, changing ring tone, etc. with no joy!
I have the same issue with my iPhone 5.
In addition to no phone ringing, Safari, Mail, and Calendar do not work.

Chrome, Microsoft Outlook Web Access have saved the day on the first to. Guess i'm going to see what Google Voice or other VoIP app can do for me for phone calls.
Try a reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down Until you see the Apple Logo. That may solve your problem. Bsydd uk

iOS 8.0.2 is extremely buggy and was not ready for the wild.
Google Voice is working for my phone calls, so i encourage others to use that if they are experiencing this problem.
Sorry, but iOS 8.0.2 is not "extremely buggy" - my phone is ringing just fine. You've checked to see that Do Not Disturb is not on? Sometimes updating somehow turns it on for some reason (I've seen it happen). Here is another unusal place to look that one poster reported: Settings > General > Accessibility > Physical & Motor section > Incoming Calls > check to see it's not set to headset.
Not trying to get in internet argument but here is the list of features that iOS 8.0.2 disabled from my perfectly functioning 8.0 running device is pretty systemic and fundamental to the entire purpose of the device.
All worked flawlessly in iOS 8.0 and 7.1.2 prior.
So aside from the phone, the email, the calendar, the web browsing, and the audio features, my iPhone is working flawlessly with iOS 8.0.2. It is a rock solid mobile operating system.
It's a joke that i've had to use Google (Voice, Chrome) and Microsoft (Outlook Web App) apps to address core functionality.
What troubleshooting have you done? Restart? Reset? Backup and resinstall? Anything at all? Sorry, just looked at your prior post. You say you've restored to factory settings, but have you done a restore as NEW and not from a backup?
Count me among the 8.0.2 users having issues. My iPhone 5S is no longer able to give any kind of audible alert to incoming messages. I can change to any sound and all I get is a vibration. Phone calls ring just fine, but no sound for messages.
I found a fix for my iphone 5 no longer ringing after the 8.0.2 update.
Settings - Do Not Disturb - Change ALLOW CALLS FROM to everyone.
My phone started ringing again (Hallelujah)!!!
Spoke too soon - changing the Allow calls from Everyone helps ... but you have to be in the Do Not Disturb setting to actually get it to ring. Exit settings and I'm back to no ring.
Power cycled my phone after making the changes above and presto it is now ringing again!!!

mosulliv, I really thought you were onto something that would help me to fix the ringer on my iPhone 5S. But alas, no matter how clever it was, it didn't get my ringer to come back to my iPhone. Ironic that I own a phone that won't ring. Has anyone heard about a new update that's coming soon to fix this problem? Also, has anyone else had a problem with their calendar not working? I really rely on the calendar. I may as well shoot myself in the foot if both the ringer and the calendar go out on me. Has anyone found another way to get the ringer back on their iPhone that isn't listed here? Thanks.

DId you try changing the Ring Tone to a new one? That was my solution.
