Jan 24, 2016 3:44 PM in response to RoflWafflezby iandavis,Hi There, OH MY GOD, this was driving me crazy. The volume on my iphone 6 plus just suddely went from loud to very quiet over night. I had read so many things on the internet about hearing aids and noise cancellation stuff and I tried everything. Nothing worked I was at the point of having to go to the apple store and I really didn't want to do that. I saw this post on here about the earpeice being blocked but looking at mine it looked fine I gave it a tap and nothing so I dismissed it. I continued to try anything I could to get this working I hated it. In a last ditch attemp I got out an old tooth brush and gave it a **** good scrub. To be fair a bit of crap did come out but I thought it was from the tooth brush. I tried it and coudn't believe it the volume was back. Now I have just one problem? Is it back to the same volume as when I bought it??? I now spend my time scrubbing the earpiece thinking I must be able to get more out!!!! Can I get it any louder???
Anyway the point is it worked. It's loud enough and I'm happy.
Do try it....what have you got to lose!!!!
Good Luck
Ian

Re: Low volume on iPhone 6 plus -
Mar 24, 2016 11:14 PM in response to Frustrated User 1 Billionby Mariemk,I have had my iPhone 6Plus for about a month. Initially, the sound on phone calls was excellent but recently, it became barely audible, so that I have to put it on speaker. Sound is fine on apps , music etc. Have tried various remedies from this site to no avail. I'm getting on a bit and maybe I'm missing something but Apple have obviously had a problem in this area in the past. Is this still a current weakness?

Sep 4, 2016 3:51 PM in response to ChrisR83by SuperDuperTech,Hey guys.. I'm a old school tech. For low volume issues. Applies to all iPhones. One step. Tools- all you need is your finger nail. Scratch your fingernail gently against your speaker grill. Side to side for about 15 secs until you see some material pop up. This is whatever is small enough to get trapped in the grill mainly your own ear dust. Then simply blow the dust out with your mouth. Repeat if necessary. Done problem solved. For free! Thanks and your welcome.
