I remember hearing something about not being able to burn the same CD more than a few times, but these are whole new playlists. No message, the CD burns, but the "protected" songs are left off the finished CD. I burn a lot of CDs because I like to play different playlists on my car CD player.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but you didn't answer my question. The language you quoted specifies "the same playlist." In my question, I noted that I'm using completely new playlists.
Using the same set of tracks in different playlist should still count them. As a test, create a new playlist with one song, burn it. Create a new playlist with the same song, and if you do it more than seven times, test if you can do it an eighth time.

This is what terms & conditions state " You shall be authorized to burn an audio playlist up to seven times."
This doesn't mention the 'same' playlist but the ultimate aim is to prevent DRM tracks being copied more than 7 times.

Does anyone know an easy workaround for this problem? I've heard about the whole iTunes Plus procedure, but I don't think it will work for me, because I've purchased these songs under several different accounts over the years, and I don't even have the IDs and passwords anymore.
If you have a current ID, and have emails when the tracks were originally purchased under other IDs, you can probably contact iTunes support and ask them to repost the content to your current iD, and attach the rights to your current id so you do not need to worry about the previous accounts/passwords.
