not able to connect to itunes store from windows

I am using iPhone 5S and with recent availability of iOS 8.02 I am trying to update my iphone but when I opened the iTunes 11.4 version and try to sign in I am getting the error

"we could not complete your itnues store request . The network connection could not be established."

im using windows 8 on my laptop. I tried few things as mentioned in other discussion forms:

1) clearing cookies from my pc(username,-->appdata--> roaming --> my apple computer--> iTunes

2) reinstalling itunes

3) enabling and disabling windows firewall

4) disabling anti virus

5) disabling and enabling setting for parental control iTunes

Pls suggest how to resolve this problem.
