I want to make a complaint to Apple. How do I go about that? Highly upset!!!!!

I want to make a complaint to APPLE, not my service provider and NOT a person who does support on here. How would I go about contacting someone about my problems?

iPhone 4S, iOS 8

How do I get proper support from Apple? - I have spent a week of my life which I will never get back on chats and calls trying to get my brand new iphone 6 to work properly - I have been given conflicting advice, cut off, ignored and asked to return my phone with a replacement AT MY COST! I have never experienced such appauling customer service. Before I actually expire from stress I am going tech free for a day (sorry friends and family who may think that I have left this planet) before tomorrow making a strong complaint to the regulator, supplier of the phone and contacting all the television and radio consumer programmes I can find alongside encouraging my friends and family not to become involved with Apple devices - the stress factor is just too much

Dear All

I have had my iphone4s for 3yrs now. A year ago the battery was changed and the phone has worked perfectly well up until 2 weeks ago when the phone prompted me to upgrade the iOS. Since then I have had no end of problems with the phone, starting with the loss of the WiFi feature, then No Sim to finally Connect to iTunes.

After numerous calls we finally got an appointment at the apple store in Southampton today. The customer service we received was shocking. After taking it out the case, the assistant asked if I had a problem with him taking out the back for inspection. After 10mins he came back and instantly stated the phone had been tampered with. Despite explaining that the battery had been changed ages ago and all the problems had only started since the update, he wasnt interested!! The phone was handed back to me and I was told it was now working, however because the battery had been changed unearthed this had caused damage to the motherboard hence loss of the WiFi feature. Again I tried to explain that the WiFi had worked perfectly since the battery was changed and only greyed out after the update, but to no avail. I was told there was nothing else they could do and that was that. I then went to the phone to check it contents before leaving only to discovered that whilst the assistant was away with the phone, to get it working it had been reset back to factory setting without doing a back up and all my personal data had been erased. This was done without permission. When I question this I was told it was the only way to get the phone functioning again!!

I am in absolute total shock. Since this update I have lost features on my internet phone, most notably the internet feature and now having gone to the people I thought I could most trust to rectify the problem, Im left with a wiped phone, no contacts, no personal data.

The internet is absolutely filled with people who have encounted the same problems. I am really disappointed with apples lack of responsibility in owning up for their infected update that has damaged so many of the phone, without any sign of remorse and instead just looking for get outs which left me leaving their store feeling as if this was my fault, when all this happened after the iOS update.

I have long been a supporter of apple products and was due to upgrade my 4s to a 5, howver after this mistreating and loss in trust in their support, I will never again purchase one of their products.

Please all of you that read this, if prompted, DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE FROM iOS7.1.2 TO 8.1.1....it will ruin your phone and apple quite clearly dont care!!!!

My devices are working quite well on 8.2.

Some models of the 4s have had a WiFi issue after being upgraded to iOS 7 or iOS 8. But Apple clearly states if someone else works on an iPhone, which is not user serviceable, they will no longer provide any service on that device. It does not matter that it had been working well for a year, that is there policy and their employees cannot provide service for it.

Well thanks for the legal bit, you sound just like an apple rep?

I dont disagree with you. Their excuse was that the phone had to be earthed before the battery change and because it wasn't, it caused damage to the motherboard. Please can you find me any documentation or tutorial on the web that backs this up as your the tech guy. You wont find any!! Their alibi is garbage!! and despite this, there is no understanding or detracting from the fact that the upgrade has rendered the phone now useless not the battery change!! and on top of that, despite what you have pointed out, apple still thought it was ok for them to wipe the phone without permission!

The phone had frozen on "connect to itunes", however itunes was not recognising the device because of the software bug. In all support I have read, apple state to back up phone first before resetting, which THEY failed to do! It wasn't possible for me to do this, thats why I went to the people who I thought could!

Not only am I left with a phone im accused of damaging when that isnt the case despite the legal get-out clauses, but they have lost years of my contacts because they haven't followed their own procedures either!! 2 wrongs dont make a right!!!!!!!!!

Overall, their support has been appalling and totally unsympathetic despite these upgrades effecting millions of their phones!! previously "tampered" with or not!!! Just the the internet, its filled with the same stories!!!!!!!

The bottom line of my story was quite clear...DONT UPGRADE YOUR DEVICES, but if you do and it causes problems, dont expect apple to take responsibility or offer any worth while support and especially dont let the phone out of your sight.

I for one am now finished with apple and their products, and i'm not on my own!! I know the truth and its a disgrace!!!!
